Foot rolling for heel pain? Stop fighting for your balance.

If your toes are gripping, your arch is working overtime, and you’re wobbling all over the place, you’re making your foot roll harder than it needs to be.

Ground your heel, relax your toes, and let your body actually settle into the release. Then you can gradually work into the arch and the spot where your arch meets your heel.

Foot rolling shouldn’t feel like a circus act. 👣

Save this for your next foot release.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the different personas we carry, and how strange it is to feel like we have to show up as just one of them online. I’m a healer, but I’m also a mother, a creative, a lover, a person who wants to go to a silent disco tonight. We contain multitudes, and I’m giving myself permission to let more of them be seen. 💛

Ever feel like your hamstrings are tighter than tight? Stretching might not always be the answer! Most of us actually have a blood flow issue in our hamstrings because we sit all day. Instead of stretching with no results, let’s try increasing blood flow together!

If your ankles feel stuck, don’t forget the front of your shin.

Your tibialis anterior plays a big role in ankle movement, and giving it some focused attention can feel so good.

Try this pin-and-stretch technique to explore the tissue while moving your ankle.

“GOOD PAIN VS BAD PAIN”
Here’s the rule I live by:
👉 Good pain isn’t really “pain”—it’s a tolerable, productive sensation. The kind that challenges you, feels better the more you move, and leaves your body stronger and freer.

👉 Bad pain is sharp, irritating, and only gets worse the longer you push. That’s your body waving a big red flag 🚩 telling you to pause, modify, or make your movement smaller.

Your movement practice should feel like self-care, not punishment. You don’t need to push through pain to create change—you need consistency, gentleness, and awareness.

85% of massage therapists have worked through pain at some point in their career. (I KNOW—that number stopped me the first time I heard it, too.)

If you’ve ever pushed through shoulder or wrist fatigue with a client still on the table, your body wasn’t being dramatic. It was trying to tell you something.

I used to think that was just the job. Then I integrated foam rolling into my practice, mostly out of necessity, and things started to shift. My pain decreased. My energy came back. And for the first time, my income wasn’t tied to how long my body could hold up under the work.

Fellows! You don’t have to sacrifice your own body to help other people. That’s not sustainability…it’s borrowed time.

If you’re a massage therapist, yoga instructor or movement professional looking for a more sustainable way to work, I built a free workshop exactly on this. I’ll show you how Release Technique can support your body and your business.
