This month’s Anchor Spotlight features prop stylist Julie Morrison.⚓️ Julie Morrison
Known for her eye for soft goods, footwear, and the smallest details that make a frame feel finished, Julie brings a thoughtful, highly precise approach to every set.
Swipe through to hear more about her process, inspirations, favorite on-set moments, and dream project.
One of Julie’s favorite recent on-set moments came with an unexpected audience.
Julie: “I was on a location shoot in a town where Justin Bieber had been spotted the day before, so we had groups of teenagers following us around, which was hilarious.”
Sometimes the best shoot stories have very little to do with the actual shot list.
For Julie, the dream is equal parts product, landscape, and adventure.
Julie: “An athletic campaign in a far flung place like Iceland.”
A fitting answer for someone whose work so often sits at the intersection of athletic product, texture, and environment.
Julie looks beyond the visual industry when she needs inspiration.
Julie: “I love a good story. I get a lot of inspiration from novels, movies, and series.”
That interest in storytelling translates naturally into prop styling, where objects, color, placement, and environment can all help build a larger world within a single frame.

Proof that some of the most useful tools on set are also the least glamorous.
When Julie isn’t working, she gravitates toward somewhere considerably less controlled than a studio.
Julie: “Swimming in nature is one of my favorite things to do, so I can usually be found in bodies of water surrounded by trees.”
A pretty ideal counterbalance to days spent obsessing over tiny details.
Julie has a clear niche within prop styling.
Julie: “I love working with soft goods and athletic shoes, and I would say my approach is creative perfectionism.”
That “creative perfectionism” comes through in the details: the drape of fabric, the shape of a shoe, the placement of a fold, a
