TLDR: I knew something was wrong, and I didn’t stop pushing until I found the right care that led to answers.

Endometriosis is a chronic disease that affects 1 in 10 uterus owners, and yet we don’t learn about it until we absolutely have to. I am grateful to have received my diagnosis after only 2 years of symptoms, but on average it takes 7-10 years for most people to receive a diagnosis. That is unacceptable.
Please take a minute to google what endo is, and be better equipped to support those in your life who (statistically) are already dealing with it. 🤍
These photos show the ups and downs of my life recently, because that’s the reality of living with an invisible chronic illness. Life keeps going on and sometimes you go with it, while other times pain takes you out.
I had to do mountains of research and push for better care when I felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously by one of my doctors. We shouldn’t *have* to push this hard, but I cannot stress enough how right my intuition was, and how much better I felt being under the care of my endometriosis excision specialist.
I still have a long healing journey ahead but I am so thankful for the excellent care I received, proud of myself for advocating so hard, and grateful for the community that has carried me to this point. 💛
I’m sharing this to hopefully bring awareness and education to my community, in the hopes that the next gal won’t have to push so hard or feel alone in it 🌼
