Boram
Making postnatal care essential.
In this position, you lean back comfortably with support from pillows or a chair and place your baby tummy to tummy on your chest, allowing them to self-latch. Because you are reclined, gravity helps slow the flow of milk, making it easier for your baby to manage the milk and stay coordinated while feeding.
This position can also help reduce coughing, choking, or pulling off the breast that sometimes happens with a strong let down. It is gentle on your back and shoulders too.
Safety tip: Always make sure you are fully awake while feeding or have someone nearby to keep an eye out, as it is easy to get cozy and drift off.

August is National Breastfeeding Month, a time to honor the parents putting in this work every single day and to champion the support that makes it possible. Whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, combo feeding, or formula feeding: you are showing up for your baby, and that’s worth celebrating. 🤍
Feeding your baby is a full-time job, full stop. Every feed, every ounce, every 2am moment of connection is real, dedicated work, and it deserves to be celebrated 🎉
Developmental leaps occur periodically during baby’s development. And, no, it is not just your imagination, your baby may actually be crying more during these times. For example, between 2-3 weeks old, babies often experience growth spurts or developmental milestones, such as increased awareness of their surroundings. This heightened awareness can sometimes lead to increased fussiness or crying as they try to process and adapt to new sensations. So, while the crying may be concerning, rest assured it is just your baby’s brain developing! Always consult your pediatrician if baby is inconsolable for a long period of time or shows any other signs of illness.
