Turns out, it’s kinda chic to let life change you 🌗

To take the trip, eat the pasta, tell the truth, start over, and admit you don’t have it all figured out.

I shared a little more about what life has really looked like lately in my latest Substack, “Everything Fell Apart.” Maybe this is what making your way through the mess looks like. 🤍

My trip to Sicily came right on time. 🇮🇹

I needed a good reminder of just how beautiful life can be 🪻🌸💁🏻‍♀️

how delicious, how luxurious, how colorful, how funny, how magical and how right at my fingertips all those good vibes really are. 💓

I remember telling my kids in a conversation a few years back that as serious as life can be, joy is actually our birthright. 🥰

What balances out the heavy, the grief, the pain are the moments that we look up and say to ourselves:

Is this real? 👀

The muse isn’t somewhere outside of you—it’s already within you. ✨

In this conversation, we explore a beautiful Rumi poem, imposter syndrome, and the fear of what others might think of our work. Creativity isn’t about finding inspiration, it’s about removing the obstacles that keep us from expressing what’s already there. 🌸🪻

What would you create if you weren’t worried about being judged?👀

Writer friends! What inspires you or gets your creative wheels turning? I’d love to add it to my list. 📚

The books we read have a way of shaping the stories we tell. They show us what’s possible in storytelling and what gets us excited as writers ourselves. 🥰

Here are three books currently inspiring my research as I work on my next book. Each one has opened up new questions, ideas, and ways of seeing.

Enjoy!!

25th College Reunion 🙃

When you go to a place that holds so many memories, do you feel you are the same person as way back when? Or have you changed? 💓

The more that time passes, the more I see I’m who I’ve always been. 🙏🏼

“I write this on the Monday morning after my 25th college reunion at Skidmore College, and I am both tired and incredibly nourished, but specifically nourished in the places that don’t always get airtime or expression. 🙃

I’m reminded of how much we need, especially as we age, opportunities to reminisce, be silly, laugh, dance, and frankly, have a big old break from our responsibilities. Even the ones we love the most.”

After so much change in my life over the past few years, it feels so good to turn to writing. 👀

I’ve been spending more time writing in cafes, people watching, reflecting, and working on my next book project.
