1. I’m still learning how to communicate my emotions clearly.
I need time to process before I speak, so I don’t have a childish outburst. Scripture helps but only when I’m intentional about being in the Word instead of looking to the world for answers.

2. Rest doesn’t come easy for me.
I’d catch myself working on something at home, at church, even in my business, on my day off. I learned rest is essential, and skipping it was a disservice to my body while I poured into everyone else’s. Now I honor my sabbath with the people I love and the things that fill me up.

3. I’m an extrovert now, but I used to be an introvert.
Becoming more confident taught me to care less about being watched and more about being unapologetically myself, so my real community can find me.

4. People-pleasing used to be second nature.
As the oldest of four, I kept the peace by any means necessary, even at my own expense. It wasn’t until I moved out that I saw how unsustainable that was.

5. My path has been entrepreneurial, not traditional employment.
I didn’t graduate into the kind of job that hands you a safety net, I took the risk instead. So staying healthy spiritually, mentally, and emotionally has had to come first.

6. My circle is tiny like a Cheerio.
I thrive around people who value what I value. We don’t have to be alike to be close, but we do have to understand each other beyond the surface. That’s taught me to be more vulnerable with the people in my corner.

7. Sometimes I still feel alone.
I don’t need to be surrounded by people all the time, but it helps to know someone’s listening. That’s where my relationship with Jesus carries me.

8. Life’s battles can be a lot.
Daughter, sister, business owner, coworker, friend, wife, nail tech, the list goes on. But above every title, I’m still called to be a child of God, and no one else’s standards get to shape how I live for Christ.
