Maybe we would love to try that Margo Robbie JLaw honey caramel blonde. So beautiful, right? Now what does this color require when your natural base is giving dark chocolate?

1. Initial appointment. Lightening every single hair takes time. It takes care and precision. Even if your goal isn’t the lightest brightest platinum, we’re still lifting your base and removing natural pigment. This will come at a cost. In money AND in time.

2. Maintenance. Your roots are going to start to really show in about 2 weeks. How are you going to feel when that happens? Even if you’re ok with 3” of root, if you wait that long your color won’t take evenly with a regular root application. Going lighter all over requires regular touch ups to ensure even color and not create splotchiness and banding.

Consultations are important! While caramel honey was the goal, we also determined that ease of grow out and a little more time in between appointments were two main priorities. In the end we decided to build the blonde gradually. This first appointment was still an investment, but maintenance will be much more forgiving and the grow out will be soft.
