I sent everyone to Boyd Chemists for makeup brushes 1975. A model named Denise Hopkins sent me there in 1974.
There was no reason to use cheap makeup brushes. It doesn’t matter how clean they are. If they are spiky to the touch, they will be inappropriate to use for makeup.
Back in the day, it’s hard to believe, makeup brushes were not produced by the big companies yet.

Some artists bought brushes at Pearl Paint 🎨 store downtown. I wouldn’t trust the brushes.
You guys can’t believe how many things were inaccessible in the 1970’s early 1980’s.

💄 Juli Foster had the look. Brows and lips were left totally natural and false lashes were out.
The 1960’s false lash craze was over. I will never forget how addicted I was to them. Lashes made their comeback in the 1990’s, I was so happy. Haven’t taken them off since and will not ever give them up again!

I found my receipt 🧾 signed by Tina Turner.
I finally gave her my Trish McEvoy brush to me in the early 1980’s when I did one of Tina’s comeback shoots. It was a tv commercial shot for Europe. All I have is my receipt. 😃
I used that sweeper brush to lightly apply powder under the eyes, so that nothing would run on set and the skin did not wrinkle. I was now gifted Trish McEvoy brush #89 which is similar but even more luxe
I always bring receipts! 🧾

Its reprinted in almost original format. I put in some things took out some things but it’s basically yours truly Disco Beauty, with all the vibes 💋💃
