Small steps can lead to big transformations. We opened our doors 16 years ago and quickly made a small decision that has changed the way we operate. 16 years ago we decided to no longer price our services by gender. We thought small steps for gender equality what we didn’t realize how large of an effect it had on our studio and in our personal lives. It opened up our community, our perspectives and our hearts. Now we advocate for safe spaces and gender affirming hair in our industry and beyond. We are proud to be here for our community and beyond. Jack came to into @tomahawksalon for his first fun hair color. He decided to do a bunch of different color blues! He’s moving to a new state and was ready to really express himself and set the tone for just how cool he is in his new town. I definitely think we achieved that! We decided to add a rainbow extension from @extensions.of.kindness in his hair to celebrate #pride and make it look like rainbow dash from the my little ponies! Talk about transformation while keeping the integrity of those beautiful strands. used custom mixing Deviant and Velvet for a rich and lush eggplant color. Hair was lightened by doing hand painting/ balayage. A heavier panel was added to the front for a larger pop of color. For styling Maria used mousse to add lots of volume and shine for that big and bouncy effect. Maria is available for appointments and consults Sunday thru Wednesday text 646-399-6873✨
