🇰🇷 Korea’s next-level skin booster trend ✨

I’ve been in Seoul for almost two weeks, and one trend I’m seeing everywhere is that skin boosters are no longer just about choosing ONE injectable.

Instead, clinics are combining different skin boosters + different treatment modalities to target multiple aspects of skin quality at once.

One combination I’m seeing:

💧 RE2O direct injection → hydration, plumpness + overall skin quality
⚡ Potenza RF microneedling → improves texture + stimulates collagen over time
🧬 Rejuran → supports hydration, repair + overall skin quality

The idea is to address hydration + texture + collagen + skin quality in one treatment plan rather than relying on a single modality.

Downtime? Expect about 1–2 days of redness, swelling, and visible injection or microneedling marks, although this varies by person and treatment intensity.

Korean aesthetic treatments continue to become more focused on combination treatments and overall skin quality rather than simply adding volume. ✨

Would you try this combination?

🇰🇷introducing Derma-Active in Pureen

Want a more lifted-looking face? Don’t forget about the muscles underneath. 💪✨

In 🇰🇷Korea, facial rejuvenation isn’t only about tightening the skin. There’s growing interest in treatments that target both the skin and facial muscles.

At Pureen, Derma-Active combines three technologies:

⚡ Microcurrent — gentle electrical stimulation
💪 EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) — stimulates facial muscle contractions to support a firmer, more toned appearance
🔥 RF (Radiofrequency) — gently heats the skin to support collagen production and improve firmness

I especially love the concept of midface muscle stimulation. As we age, changes happen not only in our skin, but also in the deeper structures that support our face.

Think of it as a workout for your face—while simultaneously working on skin quality and collagen.

No downtime. Comfortable treatment. And a very interesting addition to a well-aging routine.

🇰🇷 My personal Korea treatment plan this summer.

As a 47-year-old physician, my approach to healthy aging is simple: focus on consistency rather than chasing every new trend.

This summer, my plan includes:
• Thermage FLX for collagen maintenance
• Ultherapy for lower-face lifting
• Botox for dynamic wrinkles
• RE2O Skin Booster for my face, neck, and hands
• Radiesse to restore cheek volume while stimulating collagen

Every face ages differently, so treatment should always be individualized. This is simply the plan I personally follow to maintain healthy, natural-looking skin over time.

Healthy aging isn’t about looking younger—it’s about looking like the best version of yourself.

✨ Have you ever considered traveling to Korea for aesthetic treatments?

🇰🇷 Welcome to my summer office!

For the next 5 weeks (through the first week of September), I’ll be seeing patients at the original Pureen Seoul! 🤍

Pureen was founded in 2002 by my sister, Dr. Youn Jin Kim, and I’m so excited that we get to work together again this summer. 👩🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️

At Pureen Seoul, we have:
✨ 4 board-certified physicians

✨ And our newest addition—ADVA—which I’ll be sharing in my next Reel!

If you’re visiting Korea this month, I’d love to see you at Pureen Seoul before I head back to the U.S. in September.

I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes, treatments, and my favorite Korean skincare and well-aging tips over the next few weeks.

See you in Seoul! 🇰🇷🤍

💪 One of my favorite healthy aging habits? Starting my day with about 40 grams of protein.

As we age, we gradually lose muscle mass—a process called sarcopenia. Maintaining adequate protein intake, combined with regular resistance training, is one of the best ways to preserve muscle, strength, and physical function.

For me, my goal is about 90–100 g of protein per day, based on approximately 1.5 g/kg of ideal body weight.

☕ My morning protein coffee:
✔️ Marine collagen peptides (9 g protein)
✔️ Whey protein isolate (~30 g protein)
✔️ 3–5 g creatine monohydrate
✔️ Whole milk (a few extra grams of protein)

I don’t rely on supplements alone—most of my protein still comes from whole foods at lunch and dinner. This simply gives me a great head start.

Important: Creatine works best when combined with resistance training. It is one of the most well-studied supplements for improving strength and supporting muscle health, particularly in midlife and older adults.

✨ Consistency beats perfection.

Your metabolism isn’t “broken” after 40—but it does change.👩🏻‍⚕️

One reason is the gradual loss of muscle with aging, called sarcopenia.💪

The good news? You can help preserve your metabolism by preserving your muscle.

🏋️ Focus on strength training 2–3 times per week, especially your largest muscles:

• Squats
• Lunges
• Sumo squats
• Deadlifts (if appropriate)

After your workout, aim for enough protein, and consider 3–5 g of creatine monohydrate daily (if appropriate for you). Creatine is one of the most well-studied supplements for improving strength and helping preserve lean muscle mass when combined with resistance training.

Healthy aging isn’t about chasing a “faster” metabolism—it’s about building and preserving muscle so your body stays strong, healthy, and metabolically active.

💬 Save this post and share it with someone who wants to age stronger.

Have you heard of inflammaging? 🔥

Inflammaging is the term researchers use to describe chronic, low-grade inflammation that develops with aging. Unlike the inflammation that helps you recover from an injury or infection, this type can quietly persist for years and is associated with many age-related diseases.

Five everyday habits that can contribute:

❌ Smoking
❌ Poor sleep
❌ Chronic stress
❌ Too many ultra-processed foods
❌ Physical inactivity

The good news? Small lifestyle changes can make a difference.

✅ Exercise regularly (especially strength training)
✅ Prioritize 7–9 hours of sleep
✅ Eat a diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and adequate protein
✅ Manage stress
✅ Avoid smoking

The goal isn’t to eliminate inflammation—it’s to keep it from becoming chronic.

Healthy aging isn’t about perfection. It’s about lowering inflammation, one habit at a time. ✨

Can a serum deliver results comparable to a professional PDRN treatment?

That was the question behind IOPE XMD’s split-face clinical study—and the findings are impressive.

According to the four-week clinical study, the Clinical Recovery Serum demonstrated:

✔️ 60% improvement in skin hydration
✔️ 39% improvement in pore appearance
✔️ 18% improvement in skin barrier function

The formula features 92.3% PDRN H.A.™ Liposome Complex, designed to support efficient ingredient delivery without needles or downtime.

As a physician who performs regenerative skin treatments, I find it exciting to see evidence-based skincare continue to advance. While topical skincare is not a replacement for in-office procedures, innovations like this may help support skin recovery, hydration, and barrier health at home.

Results are based on the manufacturer’s clinical and consumer studies.

Comment “SUN” and I’ll send you some of my favorite sun serums!

The newest sunscreen trend from Korea? ☀️💧

It’s called a sun serum.

These formulas don’t provide “stronger” SPF than traditional sunscreens—but they combine effective UV protection with hydrating skincare ingredients, making sunscreen feel lightweight and comfortable.

Many contain ingredients like:
• Hyaluronic acid
• Panthenol
• Ceramides
• Niacinamide

The biggest advantage?

When sunscreen feels like skincare, you’re much more likely to apply the recommended amount—and wear it consistently.

And that’s what really protects your skin.

Comment SUN and I’ll send you some of my favorite sun serum recommendations!
