🌱There were so many seeds Dominique-LyVar Tucker - NYC 🗽Texture Educator/Master Designer and I planned to water together. Two hours over iced matcha, talking about bringing The Uzuri Method by Dominique LyVar into Citryne Rose NY. As founder, I’ve learned to discern who can hold the vision, and with Dom, all lights were green 🟢🟢🟢. He was a gardener. A neurospicy visionary who already saw everything he stood to create. We were destined.

I’m protective over what I value, so it’s rare for me to fully open my doors. I did for Dom. In our last meeting, we talked about what holds leadership back in corporate salons, the ego, the inability to honor real contribution. I told him I once wanted into those spaces and was bummed beauty school never hired me. He said, “I’m so happy they never got you. They would have tainted your experience and discriminated against you. God kept you where he needed you.” We were already planning to visit beauty schools together, with his classes taught at the salon regularly.
I’m angry, yet determined to keep his light alive. When he explained The UZURI Method he said “it’s more so a way of BEING” 🤩 The textured hair community lost the head of sound, ethical leadership. If you feel a fire in me, it’s the disappointment of him never getting the space other salon owners wouldn’t give him.
So I created The Revolt Circle, an idea I meant to build with Dom: a community that sits together, names our weaknesses, and brings real culture back to this industry, leaving the suites behind. A corporation with benefits, healthcare, and eventual profit sharing for master stylists and educators.
