Fade Process.

I break my fades into 3 panels both sides and the back.

1️⃣ I start by setting my weight line and debulking with a #2 guard.
2️⃣ Then I create my bald guideline, making sure it’s consistent all the way around before moving forward.
3️⃣ I use my shavers with the grain first, then against the grain to create a smooth foundation without digging harsh lines.
4️⃣ I set my #1 guideline evenly around the head. From there, I work down with my half guard to closed blade, no guard carefully removing the skin line.
5️⃣ Once the base is clean, I return to my #2 and blend down to control the height and keep the fade tight.

After that, I create the lineup.
The lineup lets me see the full picture and refine any areas that need extra detail.

Lately I’ve been putting more intention into my fade work.
For most of my career, I focused heavily on shear work but growth means refining every area of your craft.
