I do free repairs too often!
Many nail techs fall into this trap because we want to be nice to clients. But if every repair is free, two things happen:
you lose money and clients start seeing repairs as something that’s automatically included.
Here’s a better approach:
1. Define what is actually your responsibility.
If a nail lifts or breaks within a short guarantee period (for example 48 hours) due to application, it’s fair to repair it for free.
2. After that – repairs are paid.
Once clients have worn their nails for several days, breakage is usually related to lifestyle, impact, or natural nail growth, not your work.
3. Communicate your repair policy clearly.
Example:
“Repairs are complimentary within 48 hours. After that they are charged per nail.”
4. Educate clients about nail care.
Many breaks happen because clients use their nails as tools, open cans, or don’t wear gloves when cleaning.
5. Remember: boundaries protect your business.
Being professional doesn’t mean fixing everything for free — it means having clear policies that respect your time and skill.
A small policy change can save you hours of unpaid work every month. 💅

I was scared of bad reviews.
Not because of my work —
but because I was still running my salon like a technician, not a CEO.
Technicians seek approval.
CEOs set standards.
The moment I stopped trying to make everyone happy,
I started attracting clients who respect my work, my time, and my prices.
Bad reviews don’t break strong businesses.
Weak positioning does.
If one comment can shake your confidence,
it’s not a review problem —
it’s a leadership shift waiting to happen.

💭 “I’ll just lower my prices so clients don’t leave…”
That thought has crossed every salon owner’s mind at least once.
At first, it feels like the “safe” choice. Clients stay. The chair is never empty. But slowly, something else happens:
👉 Your energy drops.
👉 You start resenting the work.
👉 The wrong clients show up—the ones who chase discounts instead of value.
The truth? Lowering prices doesn’t keep clients loyal. It only teaches them that your worth is negotiable.
✨ The clients who stay because of YOU—your skill, your vibe, your care—will respect your prices. The rest? They were never really yours to begin with.
Raise your standard, and the right people will rise to meet it. 💎
