I’m still here!

I stepped away from the salon life to focus on myself. I needed to heal, find and value myself again. Still worked behind a chair, definitely a different one that I was not familiar with, a barbering chair. I quickly realized the face shaving part was not for me. So went to work at a SportsClips in Spring Branch just about30 min from New Braunfels. The drive is beautiful and gave me time to breathe. As a Master stylist I thought this would be a cake walk. It wasn’t!
Getting back to focusing on consistency. I learnt to be patient with myself and other’s. When you want to master something and grow time and patience is another thing to be consistent with. This was all very humbling. I could hear my mentor saying “You’re only as good as your last haircut.” There were days I wanted to give up, but I made a promise myself to do the hard thing to get to the other side. This was a part of my healing journey. Not to give up on myself. By implementing positive habits and influences. God, mind, and body. Or mind and body. Either order that’s was my process every day.
I fully respect this part of the industry, I fell in love!
Feeling so grateful for the time I got to learn and grow. Never be complacent! Always learn and grow!
Having a new perspective, I’m happy to be back full time in a salon where I can do both. 🥰

I am so grateful for the life experience, good and bad. For this industry that has blessed me with so much. I am grateful that I can create from a place of love ❤️ Thank you Marsha Power , God mother to my son, for all the love and support and being one of my most treasured mentors in this industry. My first mentor .cobb.5492 being your first assistant. Teaching me from the beginning was the greatest foundation for my career . For all your patience, I know I was not so easy to deal with 😅 Your words and life advice always has a place in my head and heart 💜
