Let’s get personal and talk about deodorant. This is an area where personal preference can vary, and there is no shame in wanting or needing a traditional antiperspirant that will reduce sweat. But… if you are interested in trying out natural deodorants, we’ve got just what you need. We tested a LOT of these for performance, ease of application, smell (!) and we think we have the best of the best.

💚 Meow Meow Tweet was one of our first purchases. They work really well, and come in some lovely scents as well as a compostable cardboard container.

💚 HiBar is our deodorant is most like what many people are used to. The oval shape as well as the glide will feel familiar, but the ingredients are simple and pure. This also comes in a compostable cardboard container.

💚 Little Seed Farm cream deodorants are our top seller – not just in deodorants, but for the entire store! And for good reason. This cream deodorant is a magic combination or natural ingredients that really REALLY works. And we carry many of the scents in bulk for refilling! (Bonus, they are local).

If you are trying natural deodorants for the first time, be patient. Your body will need to adjust, and truthfully you may have to try a couple different ones to find what works for your unique body. But it’s possible. We promise!

Sunscreen. ☀️ We all need it, but we also want to be smart about it. It can be tricky to navigate the ingredients in this one, but we have two that we really like – one from and the other from (refillable).

Personally we like lotions/creams better than sprays because there is less waste, but sometimes a lotion can be so thick it’s hard to spread and can leave a white cast. Neither of these do that, and in addition to being easy to apply, they both leave your skin feeling like it’s just been moisturized as well. A little goes a long way! Give them a try. 💚

Did you know that those dryer sheets we all grew up with are primarily made of polyester, and coated with chemicals and synthetic fragrances? There’s a better way to soften clothes. Wool dryer balls! They last a really long time (around 1,000 loads) and help separate clothes while drying to reduce static cling and drying time. Like a little scent? No problem. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the dryer balls (make sure to give them time to dry so they don’t transfer on clothes). When they’ve come to the end of their life, they are fully biodegradable. Extra bonus – it is SO much cheaper to use dryer balls than dryer sheets because they last for so long!

See, reducing plastic in your laundry is TOTALLY doable! 😍

Yesterday we showed you a super easy (and affordable) swap for plastic sponges. But I can hear some of y'all now ... "what about when I need to really scrub my pans"? Well, we've got solutions for that, too.

🌿 Bamboo pot brushes, some with handles and replaceable heads, are an easy way to give your dirty pots and pans a good scrub. They last a super long time, and when the bristles are done, they can be composted.

🌿 A bamboo pot scraper is the handy-dandy tool you didn't know you needed. It easily – and gently – works away baked on foods, even in hard to reach corners. This baby will also last a really long time, and can be composted when it's done.

🌿 Copper scrubbers are like old-school stainless steel scrubbers but better because they won't rust. And they also resist mold and stinky odors.

🌿 Loofah sponges are great gentle scrubbers. 100% plant based and biodegradable, these are great options to pair with your Swedish dishcloth.

We pride ourselves on giving y'all as many options as we can, because we know everyone has different likes and personalities. But we think there's plenty of good eco-friendly cleaning options here that EVERYONE will like!
