Permanent makeup (PM) is a safe and completely controlled method of depositing cosmetic pigments into the outmost upper layer of the skin. PM helps you look your best even with busy and active lifestyle. If you are considering a PM procedure you need to know that PM can and should look NATURAL. Having your eyebrows, eyes or lips done you will have a great effect on your overall look, however, people will have trouble figuring out how you look so good in the morning, at the gym, at the pool or at the beach. We do our best to make your procedure as comfortable and painless as possible. Even though the level of sensitivity varies by individual, some of our clients actually fall asleep during the procedure. WHY CAN’T I PERFORM PERMANENT EYELINER ON EVERY CLIENT? 👁️
And what do lash growth serums have to do with it?
Let’s talk about BIMATOPROST — the active ingredient in Latisse.
It works by prolonging the active growth phase of your eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.
But while your lashes are getting more beautiful, changes may also occur around your eyes.
⚠️ WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO YOUR EYELIDS?
• Increased skin pigmentation — eyelids may become noticeably darker.
• Redness and irritation.
• More visible blood vessels, particularly in the eyes.
• Changes in the tissue around the eyes, including loss of orbital fat.
NOW IMAGINE A TATTOO NEEDLE WORKING ON ALREADY IRRITATED, DELICATE EYELID SKIN.
As a PMU artist, I need healthy, stable skin to perform a precise eyeliner procedure.
If I see significant irritation, damaged skin, or concerning vascular changes, I will postpone the procedure and recommend medical evaluation.
I cannot promise beautiful, predictable results on compromised skin.
Long lashes are beautiful. But your eyelid health matters more than any eyeliner. ❤️
Please always tell your PMU artist if you use Latisse or other lash growth serums.

Not every eye is suitable for a dramatic winged eyeliner tattoo! 🖤
When done correctly, a long, artistic wing can look absolutely beautiful. But before choosing this style, there are a few things I want every client to understand.
First, permanent eyeliner is a long-term commitment. Pigment may fade or change color over time, but you should never assume that a dramatic wing will completely disappear on its own.
Second, think about the future!
If you decide to have a blepharoplasty or an eyelid lift later in life, the skin may be repositioned, potentially changing the shape, angle, or symmetry of your eyeliner.
This is why I always recommend a more delicate, minimal design. Less is often more, especially when we consider how our faces change with age.
However, if you fully understand the risks and still want a long, dramatic wing, I will carefully evaluate your skin before deciding whether the procedure is appropriate.
I check skin thickness, elasticity, visible capillaries, eyelid anatomy, and any history of lash-growth serum use. Some serums can affect the delicate eyelid area, so I may recommend discontinuing them well in advance, depending on the product and skin condition.
And please, NO LASH EXTENSIONS during your eyeliner appointment!
Throughout the procedure, I need to gently remove excess pigment and fluid. Cotton fibers can catch on extension adhesive, making the process uncomfortable and interfering with my ability to work precisely.
My goal isn’t just to create beautiful eyeliner today.
It’s to consider how your eyeliner will look in 5, 10, or even 20 years.
Beautiful results begin with thoughtful decisions. ❤️
Would you choose a dramatic wing or a more natural, timeless eyeliner?

WHY I NEVER DRAW EYEBROWS WHILE MY CLIENT IS LYING DOWN!
When a client asks for dark, bold eyebrows with intense fronts, I always start with a consultation, a preliminary sketch, and several photos.
Why? Because your eyebrows are not static. They move with your facial expressions!
One side of the forehead may be more active than the other. When the client relaxes, the brows may sit at one level. When they open their eyes or start talking, one eyebrow may rise significantly higher than the other.
Look at these three photos of the same client:
A. Eyes closed, facial muscles relaxed.
B. Eyes open. The forehead muscles are already becoming active.
C. During a normal conversation, the difference in eyebrow position becomes even more noticeable.
🚨 THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
NEVER DESIGN EYEBROWS WHILE YOUR CLIENT IS LYING DOWN!
THERE IS A GROWING TREND OF ARTISTS DRAWING THE ENTIRE EYEBROW SHAPE WHILE THE CLIENT IS LYING FLAT.
BUT WHEN THE CLIENT SITS UP, THE EYEBROWS CAN LOOK COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!
ALWAYS CREATE AND CHECK YOUR EYEBROW DESIGN WITH YOUR CLIENT SITTING UPRIGHT.
TALK TO YOUR CLIENT. ASK THEM TO OPEN AND CLOSE THEIR EYES. WATCH HOW THEIR FOREHEAD MUSCLES MOVE. OBSERVE THEIR NATURAL FACIAL EXPRESSIONS.
AND ALWAYS CHECK THE FINAL SKETCH BEFORE STARTING THE PROCEDURE!
Remember, permanent makeup is not regular makeup. We cannot simply wipe it off when the client notices an unexpected difference.
This is also why I recommend starting with a softer color and a more conservative shape, especially when a client requests very dark, thick eyebrows.
I always show my clients their photos and explain how their natural facial movements can affect the appearance of their brows.
My goal is not to create perfectly identical eyebrows in one frozen facial expression. My goal is to create a balanced, flattering design that works with your face in everyday life.
Your face moves.
Your eyebrow design should respect that. 🤎

WHITE SPOTS: CAMOUFLAGE OR NOT?
Yes, white spots can be camouflaged with medical micropigmentation. But there is something very important to understand before deciding to do it.
Many small white spots that appear on the legs with age and years of sun exposure may be Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis (IGH). These areas have less pigment than the surrounding skin.
So what happens if we camouflage them?
1. BEFORE
The white spots are visible because they contain less natural pigment.
2. AFTER CAMOUFLAGE
I can custom-match a medical pigment to your current skin tone, making the spots blend beautifully with the surrounding skin.
But this is where the long-term problem begins.
3. 1–2 YEARS LATER — YOUR SKIN GETS DARKER
Your natural skin tans. The implanted pigment does not tan with it and may also fade over time.
The previously camouflaged areas can now appear lighter than your skin — and new white spots may continue to develop.
4. 1–2 YEARS LATER — YOUR SKIN GETS LIGHTER
The opposite can happen too.
If your natural skin becomes lighter, the implanted pigment may now appear darker, warmer or more noticeable than the surrounding skin. And again, new white spots may appear around the treated areas.
This is exactly why I don’t recommend permanent camouflage for every case of hypopigmentation.
The question is not only:
“Can I camouflage it today?”
The more important question is:
“How will it look in 1, 2 or 5 years?”
Sometimes choosing NOT to tattoo is the most professional treatment decision I can make for my client.
Always protect hypopigmented skin from the sun and consult a dermatologist to determine the cause of white spots before considering camouflage.
Medical micropigmentation should create a long-term improvement — not simply a beautiful result on the day of the procedure.

I AM SHOCKED. 🤯
Seriously. TWO local artists worked on these eyes. TWO. And neither procedure was cheap.
I was the one who had to correct this eyeliner, and when I saw what I was dealing with, my first thought was:
HOW CAN SOMEONE DO THIS TO A CLIENT?!
Scarring.
Pigment migration.
Uneven, traumatized lines.
Pigment placed around skin lesions/moles.
And a DOUBLE WING. 😳
I understand that we are all human. Every artist can make a mistake. But if you DON’T KNOW how to do permanent eyeliner — DON’T TAKE THE CLIENT!
If you realize during the procedure that you can’t achieve a safe, clean result — STOP.
And if you created a result like this, have enough professional integrity to admit it and REFUND THE CLIENT.
These are someone’s EYES. This is someone’s FACE.
This isn’t a set of nails that can simply be removed and redone next week. Pigment is implanted into the skin, and a client may have to live with the consequences of a bad procedure for YEARS.
What makes me even more upset is that this client paid good money and trusted people who presented themselves as professionals.
If you don’t know how — LEARN.
If it isn’t going well — STOP.
But PLEASE, STOP TRAUMATIZING PEOPLE’S SKIN.
BEFORE — what my client came to me with.
AFTER — my correction.
And yes… I’m still shocked. 😳

WHY DO BROWN PMU BROWS TURN GRAY? 🩶
One of the most common questions I hear is:
“My brows were BROWN. How did they become gray?”
The first thing to understand is that brown is not just one color.
In simplified color theory, we can think of brown as a balance of several color components:
🟡 Yellow brings warmth
🔴 Red brings warmth and depth
⚫ Dark/black brings depth and intensity
Together, in the right balance, we see BROWN. 🤎
But permanent makeup pigment is placed inside the skin — and that balance does not necessarily look exactly the same forever.
Over the years, pigment particles are gradually affected by the skin, immune system, UV exposure, skincare, lifestyle and other factors. Different color components may change or become less visible at different rates.
If the warmer components become less visible while more of the dark component remains, the balance changes.
🟡 + 🔴 + ⚫ = 🤎 BROWN
↓ less visible warm components over time
⚫ - less 🟡 - less 🔴 = 🩶 COOLER / GRAY
This is one reason an old warm-brown PMU can eventually appear neutral, ashy or gray.
And this is also why simply putting MORE BROWN over gray brows may be a mistake.
Remember: the old dark/cool pigment is still in the skin.
If we repeatedly add complete brown pigment over it, we are also adding more dark pigment. Instead of restoring the missing balance, we may increase the total pigment load and make the brows darker, denser and eventually even cooler.
That is why I never look only at the color written on the pigment bottle.
I look at WHAT IS ALREADY IN THE SKIN and WHAT COLOR BALANCE IS MISSING.
If there is only a light gray residual shade, sometimes the solution is to restore the missing warmth with carefully selected corrective tones.
If the brows are already very dark and saturated, adding more pigment may not be appropriate at all — removal may be the better first step.
Brown PMU is about BALANCE. 🤎
And successful correction is about understanding how that balance has changed.

Lower eyeliner isn’t always the best place to start.
I usually don’t recommend doing the lower lash line by itself, without balancing the rest of the eye. A strong horizontal line underneath can visually weigh the eye down, make it appear smaller, and add age as our features naturally begin to shift downward over time.
My first goal is always to visually LIFT.
I start by restoring the missing arch of the brows and, when the eye anatomy allows, creating a soft upper eyeliner with a slightly lifted outer corner. These small changes redirect the horizontal lines upward and can instantly make the eyes look more open and refreshed.
Only after the brows and upper eyeliner are completely finished do I evaluate the lower lash line. If the client’s anatomy and aging pattern allow it, we can add a very soft lower lash enhancement for balance.
Permanent makeup isn’t about adding more pigment. It’s about placing it where it works with your anatomy. 🤍

Sometimes the best brow correction is… NO MORE permanent pigment. 🤎
This client came to me wanting darker brows.
And I completely understand why. Her brows looked very light and she wanted more definition.
But here’s what I saw as a PMU artist:
She has fair skin, light hair and very light natural brow hairs. Adding another layer of permanent pigment wasn’t necessarily the best solution.
Permanent makeup is not regular makeup. Pigment remains in the skin for years, and its appearance can change as it fades.
So when a client repeatedly asks to make her PMU darker, I always ask myself:
Does she really need MORE pigment in her skin — or do we simply need to make her natural brow hairs more visible?
In this case, we chose the simplest solution.
We tinted her natural brow hairs.
That’s it. Look at the difference.
The existing shape didn’t need to become heavier. We simply brought out the brow hairs she already had, creating a darker, fuller and more defined appearance without adding another layer of PMU.
This is especially important for my clients with fair skin, blonde or gray hair and light brows.
Sometimes MORE pigment is not better.
Sometimes the most professional decision I can make as a permanent makeup artist is to tell you:
“You don’t need another PMU procedure.”
My goal isn’t to put as much pigment as possible into your skin.
My goal is to create brows that look beautiful today — and that I’ll still be happy with years from now.
Not sure what your brows actually need?
Send me a clear photo in natural daylight. I can help determine whether you may benefit from a refresh, color correction, removal — or something as simple as a brow tint.
