Those tiny, white, pearly, perfectly round bumps that feel hard ? 🤍
Those are often milia.
Milia are tiny, keratin-filled cysts that can appear at almost any age. They’re harmless, but they can be incredibly stubborn and usually don’t respond to squeezing or regular skincare products.
When appropriate, the most effective way to remove an established milia is professional sterile extraction, using a sterile lancet to create a tiny opening so the keratin can be released.
Some milia may eventually disappear on their own, especially in younger clients. In more mature skin, however, they tend to be more persistent and often require professional manual extraction.
✨ Please don’t squeeze or pick at them at home. Because they are enclosed under the skin, squeezing usually doesn’t remove them and can cause unnecessary irritation or even scarring.
And remember, not every tiny white or flesh colored bump is milia. Proper identification comes first.
