Not every navel should be pierced the same way.

This client reached out after being pierced elsewhere.

This client’s anatomy was not suitable for a traditional navel piercing, but it was pierced using traditional navel jewelry and incorrect placement . When anatomy isn’t properly assessed, it can lead to irritation and healing complications like you see here.

This client would have been a better candidate for a floating navel piercing, which uses jewelry designed to reduce pressure and better accommodate certain anatomy types.

In this case, we removed the jewelry, allowed the area to fully heal, and re-pierced with the correct technique and jewelry after several months of healing.

If you’re ever unsure about a piercing or how it’s healing, don’t hesitate to seek a second opinion from a professional piercer.

Every body is different, and proper anatomy assessment is key to a healthy piercing.
