You know—the one with all the numbers and letters (2A, 3C, 4B)…
The one that we use to define or describe our hair.
Here’s the truth:
That chart is NOT something we were taught in cosmetology school.
What we were taught—and what actually matters—is:
-Porosity
-Density
-Texture
-Elasticity
Because those are the things that truly determine:
-How your hair absorbs moisture
-How products perform
-How your hair should be cared for
Education is not optional when it comes to your hair… It’s essential.
Anyone can apply products.
Anyone can style curls.
But understanding your hair? That’s where real transformation happens.
At For By Grace, education is always included in every service because I don’t just want your hair to look good when you leave… I want you to know how to care for it long after your appointment.
You’ll learn:
-Why your hair behaves the way it does
-How to properly hydrate your curls
-What products actually work for YOU
-Techniques that make your routine easier...not harder
Because healthy hair isn’t about guessing…
It’s about knowing.
When you’re educated, you’re empowered.
And when you’re empowered, your curls thrive.
This is more than a service.
This is a partnership. 🤍
The Curl Formation Process
Consultation
We start with intention. I review your intake form and ask follow-up questions so I can truly understand your hair, your habits, and your goals.
Deep Cleansing (Hydration)
Your curls can’t thrive without a clean foundation. I take you through a full cleanse using:
• Clarifying shampoo + cleansing treatment
• All-purpose shampoo
• Moisturizing shampoo
We’re removing buildup and restoring balance.
Conditioning Treatment
Your hair receives targeted repair using either Olaplex or K18—chosen based on what your hair needs most.
Condition + Detangle
I create a custom conditioner cocktail to hydrate, soften, and prepare your hair for styling—while gently detangling with care.
Style
This is where your curls come to life. Defined, hydrated, and supported with the right technique and products.

This isn’t rushed.
This isn’t guesswork.
This is intentional curl care.
Because healthy curls don’t just happen… they’re cultivated.

I’m more than a stylist—I’m a woman who believes in growth, patience, and showing up with intention… in life and in hair care.
Behind the chair, I care for curls.
Outside the chair, I live what I teach—consistency, self-care, and trusting the process.
Because healthy hair isn’t just about products… it’s about mindset, discipline, and giving yourself grace along the way.
This is more than hair for me… it’s personal. 🤍

Why Curls Droop
Here are the top reasons:
1. Lack of Hydration
Dry curls are weak curls. When hair is dehydrated, it can't hold shape or maintain spring.
2. Too Much Product Build-Up
Build-up weighs the hair down, causing curls to fall before they fully form.
3. Needing a Trim or Shape
Without a proper shape, curls tend to fall into uneven sections and collapse.
4. Using Heavy Oils or Butters
These coat the hair shaft and suffocate the curl, making it fall instead of bounce.
5. Not Enough Water in Your Wash-and-Go
Water is your primary styling product. Without enough water saturation, curls won't clump or spring.
***Your curls aren’t failing. They’re communicating.
***Drooping curls are simply a sign that your hair is thirsty, weighed down, or ready for a cut. With the right routine and care, your curls will start to stand, spring, and shine the way they’re meant to.
