Surfside Spa

Are you in town for the concerts for Takoma in Seacape?
Is it a rainy concert weekend? Turn it into a spa day. Massages, facials, and soaks — book now before we fill up.

Before a hip flexor stretch does anything useful, the position has to be right. That's what you're seeing here.

Your hip flexors, the psoas and re**us femoris, run from your spine and pelvis down to the front of your thigh. Hours of sitting (desk, car, flight down to the coast) keep them short, and a tight front hip can pull the pelvis forward and load the low back.

The Surfside Spa offers more than just relaxing massages and facials. We offer customized sessions that include targeted assisted stretching, mobility & movement work, and personalized corrective exercises to loosen tight muscles, restore natural range of motion, and address specific muscular imbalances.

We only have two spots available today! Schedule your facial for 12pm or 4:30pm.

Here's the solution for your tight muscles:

Muscle Energy Technique resets the spindle's "normal" length, so the tissue actually accepts the longer position instead of springing back.

At Surfside Spa, we use MET to restore normal muscle length at the joint level — not just a temporary stretch, but a real reset the muscle holds onto.

Today, we remember and pay tribute to the lives lost and the brave sacrifices made by all of those who selflessly helped others and stood strong for our country 25 years ago.
Always in our hearts. Never forgotten. 🇺🇸🕊️

Ever notice your body wants to tense up and hold your breath the moment we find a trigger point? That's exactly backwards from what actually helps.

A trigger point is a tight knot in the muscle fiber, and pressing into it will bring some discomfort — that's normal, and it's actually useful. We ask clients to breathe through it and tell us where it sits on a 1-10 scale. That pain is information: it tells us exactly where the tissue is holding tension, and it guides how much pressure to use and how long to hold it.

Fighting the sensation — bracing, holding your breath — just tightens the muscle further and makes the release take longer. Breathing through it lets the muscle actually let go.

At Surfside Spa, we go right to where it hurts, at a pace you control, using your breath and your feedback as the guide the whole way through.
