Some of the biggest culprits behind dry, brittle, damaged hair aren’t always the obvious ones 👀

1. Sleeping with wet hair - Your hair is at its most fragile when it’s wet. Tossing and turning while you sleep creates friction, tangles, and unnecessary breakage.

2. Skipping heat protectant - If you’re using hot tools without heat protectant, you’re exposing your hair directly to high temperatures that can lead to dryness, split ends, and color fading.

3. Rough towel drying - Aggressively rubbing your hair with a towel can rough up the cuticle, leading to frizz, breakage, and damage. Instead, gently squeeze out excess water with a microfiber towel.

4. Aggressive brushing - Yanking a brush through knots (especially when your hair is wet) can cause significant breakage. Always start at the ends and work your way up.

5. Going too long between trims - No, trims don’t make your hair grow faster—but they do prevent split ends from traveling further up the hair shaft and causing more damage.

• I love to read. I’ve already finished 34 books this year! Mostly Rom Coms and Romantasy but I dabble in other fiction genres too. What should I read next?!
• I’m a gardener in my spare time! I have two huge perennial gardens. One in the shade and one in the sun! I haven’t ventured into veggies yet.
• I have 3 pets. A 13 year old cat (Django) a 5 year old Rottweiler mix (Willa) and a 2 year old Anatolian shepherd mix (Lupin).
• I love to thrift! Clothes, decor, holiday stuff whatever!
• Speaking of holidays, I go overboard with holiday decorations at my house! Inside and out. The kids call it the “Candy Cane House” and I’ve had multiple boys yell “I love your Halloween decorations” while driving or walking by.
