Thank you all sooooo much for your donations. 100% of all money raised will go directly to rent assistance and food delivery for our neighbors impacted by ICE.

There was a famous Minnesotan who once said “We all do better when we all do better.” These are beautiful words to live by, and we say them often here.

ICE is still here and our neighbors need our help!!

Despite what we’re told, 🧊is still here and still active in our community.

Our neighbors have been collecting donations and doing food delivery EVERY weekend since the occupation began.

To help support and our neighbors, The Hair Creative is hosting a raffle to raise funds for rent relief. Here’s the deets -

-There’s 2 gift baskets available at a value of $250. Each basket contains -
- A custom hair care package from and
- A $100 Hair Creative Gift Card
- Detangling Brush & Cloth Hair Ties

-Each raffle entry is $5. Donate $20, get 4 entries.

- Drawing will be on Wednesday, April 1st.

100% of all money raised will go directly to Juntos Podemos.

Since the government announced that ICE “is leaving”, donations have slowed down. A lot. ICE is still here, and our neighbors need our help now just as much as they did 2 months ago.

Junto Podemos in English means Together We Can.

And together we can accomplish anything.

Update for 1/23

After much discussion with our team, we have made the decision to stay open.

Our staff will be donating portions of their sales to local initiatives to provide rent assistance to our neighbors affected by ICE.

In support of our staff, The Hair Creative will be matching all donations made today.

Thank you to all of our guests for your continued support.

Yes, I know. I suck at social media.

I did hire someone to take over, but with the state of the world, it felt a little empty to start a new social media campaign.

Then I thought about it a little, and decided, F*ck that.

So here we go -

Community & Collaboration

These are the two words we wanted to lead us into 2026.
We truly had no idea how important they would be.

When starting The Hair Creative, I wanted to focus on values. Here are my exact notes about what the value of community means to me -

“Supporting and seeking input from those around us to create a positive and meaningful impact in our neighborhood.”

Since day one, our team has worked endlessly on this along with creating a space for folks to feel
seen
heard
valued
respected

We will continue to do hair. We will (with the help of our new social media director) continue to share hair on our socials, because duh! we’re really good at it.

But we also plan to share a lot more than that.

We want to share what our community is doing to support one another.

We want to highlight
local businesses
local artists
local humans

because without their support, we wouldn’t be here...and damn it....we’re not going anywhere.

Unfortunately, our current administration is tryng to break our community, and we’re not going to let that happen.
..and honestly, Minneapolis, you have stepped the F up.

We hear you. We see you. We stand with you.

Our door is always open....although it may be locked (because f*ck ICE).

A GFHCC is a day where we provide FREE gender affirming haircuts for youth and members of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
