A little clarification from Studio 21 Salon & Spa regarding Bright Bite by Kylie 🤍

Over the past several days, questions and concerns have been raised regarding Kylie’s cosmetic teeth-whitening services, specifically the products she uses and whether what she is doing is legal.

Rather than speculate or go back and forth based on secondhand information, we went directly to the appropriate sources for clarification.

We contacted the Tennessee Board of Dentistry directly and were advised that as long as the products being used are OTC/non-prescription, the service is legal. We then spoke directly with Kylie’s product company regarding the professional products she uses.

The products Kylie uses are professional dental-grade products, but they are NON-PRESCRIPTION. The company requires professionals to complete their certification before being able to purchase their professional product line, which Kylie has completed. Their management is also providing us with written documentation confirming the non-prescription status of these products for our records.

We are aware that concerns regarding Kylie’s services have also been brought to the Board of Dentistry by local dental offices, and hopefully this clarification answers the questions and concerns that have been raised.

I will also say this respectfully: the concern itself was never the frustrating part. If another professional genuinely questions whether a service being offered in our salon is legal or safe, I absolutely understand wanting clarification.

What has been frustrating is the rumors, misinformation and conflicting information that have circulated locally, along with the way some of these concerns have been handled. There is a professional way to ask questions, seek clarification and address concerns without creating unnecessary confusion surrounding another person’s business.

As the owner of Studio 21, I take every service offered inside my salon seriously. If something is questioned, I’m going to do my due diligence, ask the appropriate questions and go directly to the sources who can actually provide the answers.

That’s exactly what we’ve done.

We appreciate the clarification we’ve received and consider the questions surrounding the legality of the products and services addressed. Kylie will continue doing what she loves, and Studio 21 is happy to have her. 🤍
