🌿🔥 FIRE C***R SEASON IS HERE! 🍎🍋🌶️
There’s something about fall on the homestead that makes me want to start filling jars with all of nature’s goodness!
Our newest blog post is LIVE, and this time we’re talking about FIRE C***R! 🔥
This traditional herbal tonic is packed with bold ingredients like fresh ginger, turmeric, garlic, onions, citrus, and hot peppers, all steeped in apple c***r vinegar. It’s a spicy, tangy way to bring a little old-fashioned herbal tradition into your kitchen!
Around here, we believe in getting back to our roots, using what nature provides, and keeping those homesteading traditions alive. 🌿
Whether you’ve been making fire c***r for years or you’re curious about trying your first batch, I’m sharing how we make ours right here on the farm!
🍂 Grab your mason jars, friends!

It’s cranberry season here in Massachusetts ❤️🍂
This morning, Vinnie and I took a walk through the bogs after feeding the cows, and the cranberries are being picked. The morning started with that crisp fall air we love, but this afternoon has turned surprisingly warm. That’s October in New England for you. 😂🍁
Fun cranberry fact: Cranberries are one of only a few fruits native to North America, and Massachusetts has been growing them commercially for more than 200 years!
Come stop by the barn store tomorrow from 10–4 and grab some of our New England-inspired scents to make your home feel like fall. 🍁 It’s also a great time to start your Thanksgiving and holiday gift giving!

ON THE BLOG ➡️ Winter is coming, and no, we’re not talking about a dramatic TV series finale—we’re talking about frozen hoses, muddy boots, and wondering if the chickens have a better winter wardrobe than we do. ❄️🐔
This week’s blog post is here to help you get your homestead ready before the first snowflake arrives. From protecting your plants to preparing your animals and stocking up on essentials, our New England fall checklist will help you tackle winter prep before you’re doing it in 20-degree weather with numb fingers.

Because “I’ll do it tomorrow” is a dangerous game when tomorrow comes with ice. 🥶🌿
How to Prepare Your Homestead for Winter: A New England Fall Checklist Here in New England, getting the homestead ready for winter starts long before the first real snowstorm. After enough years of doing this, we've learned that winter preparation isn't really about one big project. It's a whole bunch of little things that become very big problems if you wait until it'...

Farm. Family. Food. Creating. Canning. Growing. Repeat.
Wouldn’t trade this crazy, beautiful life for anything. 🧡

How’s your Friday night going?! 🌙🌾
It’s been a PRODUCTIVE day here on the farm! 🙌
🍑 Peach salsa is made and canned.
🍗 7 GALLONS of homemade chicken stock is prepped and ready for tomorrow’s canning adventure — Ham & Potato Soup! 🥔🥣
That stock was made from 12 chicken carcasses from birds we raised right here on the farm, along with organic carrots and onions from Azure Standard. There’s just something about making food from what you’ve raised yourself that never gets old. ❤️
And after being in the kitchen all day, I was NOT making a complicated dinner. 😂 So I stole some of that fresh chicken stock and made rice ramen for everyone. Simple, warm, and exactly what we needed. 🍜
Now we’re topping off the night with the latest Hocus Pocus movie 🎃🧙♀️ while Dad is outside buttoning down the hatches for this storm! 💨🌧️
Farm chores, canning, homemade dinner, a cozy movie…and hopefully everything stays right where it belongs outside. 😂
Happy weekend, y’all! ✌️🌻
What are YOU up to this Friday night?

Happy Friday, friends! 🌿🤎
There’s something about putting food on the table that you grew, harvested, preserved, or made with your own two hands. It’s one of the biggest reasons we chose this homestead life. We can’t control everything happening in the world, but we can keep building something good right here at home. 🌻🐓🌾
And speaking of things we can’t control… apparently Mother Nature has some plans for us. 😅🌧️💨 Hope everyone is prepared for the storm headed our way. We’re hoping it ends up being a whole lot of hype and not much else!
Stay safe, stay cozy, check on your animals, and have a beautiful Friday! ✌️🤎

🌿 BLOG POST WEDNESDAY! 🌿
We didn’t build a Pinterest kitchen.
We built a kitchen that could keep up with a homestead. 🔪🥕🥔🫙
After 14 years of living here, growing food, preserving harvests, raising animals, homeschooling kids, running a farm business, and figuring out exactly what DIDN’T work… we finally had the chance to build the kitchen we actually needed.
And let me tell you — a homestead kitchen is a whole different animal. 😂
When your counters are covered in baskets of tomatoes, there’s a pressure canner running, giant pots need washing, dinner still needs to be made, and you’re processing food from the farm… pretty isn’t enough.
It has to WORK.
In this week’s blog, I’m taking you inside our working homestead kitchen — including the choices we made after years of experience, the massive workstation sink that might just be my favorite thing ever, our commercial refrigerator, and why we designed this space around real farm life instead of what looks good on Pinterest.
If you’ve ever dreamed about building a homestead kitchen — or you just love seeing how other homesteaders make their homes actually WORK for them — you’ll want to read this one. 🌾🤎
Grab a cup of coffee and come take a peek inside our kitchen!
