Following an unexpected layoff in her career as a high school teacher, Maritza “Marz” Valle started her beauty business as a solo operation in 2008. Seven years, and thousands of faux lashes later, the one-girl band is now a full squad of some of South Florida’s most sought after (and fierce) makeup and hair professionals. A Miami native, Marz grew up collecting beauty tips from her makeup-loving mom and sister. And while she likely had the most fabulous Barbies on the block in grade school, it was at age 15 when her big sister changed her life with a full face of makeup. From then on, her natural born artistic side came to life. She constantly dolled up the smiling faces of her friends and family for fun, and teaching at-risk youths for eight years, the self-taught artist even beautified her students for prom and other formal events. But it was after being laid off amid a recession that she decided to reinvent her life and turn passion and natural talent into a fresh-faced career. Marz quickly found herself leaning towards the art of making brides flawless—a focus that likely stemmed from an unsatisfying experience with her own wedding glam squad. And in the blink of a perfectly lined eye, a staggering increase in demand led her to assemble a team of unparalleled talent to carry her name, and style. While all different, in personality and technique, the incredibly talented members of the Marz Makeup + Hair team share the common goal of making women feel the most stunning they have ever felt.
