I still remember the day this client walked into our clinic and realized she was booked with one of our newest acne specialists. At the time, my schedule was packed, and I wasn’t able to pop in right away to help with the consultation like I normally would.

By the time I made it into the treatment room, Alexa (we miss you! 🤍) was confidently leading the appointment, and I instantly knew this client was in great hands.

Week after week, this client showed up. Every visit, my jaw dropped a little more as I watched her skin transform.

Over the course of the next year, she worked with several of our estheticians, and every single one helped move her closer to her goal. Most recently, she’s been under the care of our incredible esthetician, Elle Lopez who has helped her maintain resilient, healthy, clear skin.

I had the chance to see this client again this week while Elle was on vacation, and I was once again blown away by her transformation. Seeing her skin in person was such a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a dedicated client meets a knowledgeable, passionate team.

Your esthetician isn’t obsessed with your skin barrier for no reason.

A healthy barrier helps regulate inflammation, and that’s the foundation of healthy skin. 🤍

The harsh truth about that sun-kissed look:

☀️ 1. A tan is a sign of skin damage.
A tan develops because UV radiation has already damaged your skin. Melanin is your body’s response to help limit future damage, not evidence that your skin wasn’t harmed.

🧬 2. UV exposure breaks down collagen.
Even if you never burn, UV rays accelerate collagen and elastin loss, leading to wrinkles, pigmentation, and premature skin aging. This damage doesn’t show immediately, but becomes more apparent later into your 30’s and 40’s.

⚠️ 3. UV damage increases skin cancer risk.
Both tanning and burning cause DNA damage. The DNA damage is no different. Over time, that damage can accumulate and increase your risk of skin cancers, including melanoma.
