This is my skin cancer story. 🤍

Not medical advice. Not meant to scare anyone. Just my experience—and hopefully a reminder someone needs to hear.

I’ve now had multiple skin cancers removed over the last several years, and if there’s one takeaway I want you to have from this reel, it’s this:

GET. YOUR. SKIN. CHECKED.

Don’t wait until something looks “bad enough.”
Don’t assume you’re too young.
Don’t assume it can’t happen to you.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate based on age.

And please, wear your SPF. Every. Single. Day. ☀️

I can’t go back and change how I treated my skin when I was younger, but I can take care of it now—and I can use my story to remind someone else to do the same.

Know your skin. Pay attention when something changes. Make the dermatology appointment. And wear the damn sunscreen. 🤍

I’m officially 2 days post-op from having skin cancer removed, and today was the first day I could take off the original bandages, gently clean everything, apply Vaseline, and cover it all back up.

And unfortunately, this isn’t my first rodeo. These were my 3rd & 4th skin cancer removals in about 4–5 years. 😭

Right now I’m keeping everything super simple and following my doctor’s instructions while the incisions heal. I’ve ordered a few scar-care products for later, and I’ll share what I end up using and how everything heals along the way.

Being a hairstylist is basically experiencing 14 different lifetimes before dinner. 😂

One client has restored my faith in humanity, the next has convinced me dating is a scam, someone’s having a baby, someone’s getting divorced, somebody saw a UFO, and somehow by 3 PM I’m reconsidering every financial decision I’ve ever made.

There were a lot of days when the dream looked a whole lot less glamorous than it does on Instagram.

Long days. Late nights. Second guessing. Sacrifices. Quiet wins no one saw. Showing up when I was tired, scared, overwhelmed, or wondering if I was completely crazy for believing I could build something bigger.

And I kept going.

Not because I knew it would work.

Because I knew I’d always wonder what if if I didn’t try.

Now I get to walk into a space that once only existed in my head and realize… damn, we actually built this. 🥹

So if you’re in the season where nobody is clapping yet — keep going.

They usually don’t see the vision until it becomes something they can see. ✨
