You get comfortable either way.
You can get comfortable being stuck.
Comfortable staying inflamed.
Comfortable making excuses.
Comfortable telling yourself “I’ll start Monday.”

Or… you can get comfortable doing hard things that actually move your life forward.

The workouts when motivation is low.
The uncomfortable conversations.
The recovery work.
The discipline nobody claps for.
The ice baths.

Both versions are uncomfortable.
One keeps you where you are.
One changes you.
That’s the difference.
Not avoiding discomfort… choosing the right kind. ❄️💪

Being sick will humble you REAL fast. Drop a 😷 if you’ve felt this recently, cause I know it’s going around 😭

2 weeks off…
and suddenly weights feel heavier, your lungs are working overtime, and your confidence takes a hit.
And if you’re like me?

You hate slowing down. You feel like you’re losing progress.

But here’s the truth no one likes to hear:

You don’t lose your results from resting.
You lose them from rushing back too fast and setting yourself back AGAIN.

So if you’re coming back after being sick, read this:
→ You are not supposed to feel 100% right away
→ Your strength will come back faster than you think
→ “Taking it easy” is not weakness… it’s strategy

This is where most people mess up…
they try to pick up exactly where they left off.
That’s ego. Not training.

Real progress looks like:
✔ pulling back when your body needs it
✔ rebuilding instead of forcing
✔ trusting your consistency over time

Because the goal isn’t one hard workout…
It’s staying healthy enough to keep showing up.
And if you’re in that “ugh everything feels hard” phase right now,
good.

That means you’re on your way back.
Just don’t rush it. 💜

What’s your favorite gym date, upper or lower?💖

This came up as a memory and wanted to reshare especially now…

Five years ago I wrote this remembering how I felt in a flare, on steroids, watching the scale climb while my body felt completely out of my control.
And I meant every word.
Scales don’t know:
• the medications you’re on
• the inflammation you’re fighting
• the stress you’re carrying
• the muscle you’re building
• the bone density you’re protecting
• the strength you’re gaining

And in 2026, this feels even more relevant.
In the middle of all the GLP-1 conversations… the rapid weight loss… the obsession with smaller numbers…
Can we please not forget that health is more than shrinking?

Losing weight without protecting muscle is not a win.
Shrinking at the expense of strength is not the goal.
A lower number with weaker bones, lower protein intake, and less resilience is not “healthy.”
Your body composition matters.
Your strength matters.
Your longevity matters.
The scale is one data point. It is not a moral report card.
If you are using medication as a tool — amazing.
But use it wisely. Lift. Eat the rainbow. Train for strength. Think long-term.
Because five years from now, I promise you this:
You won’t care what the scale said.
You will care how strong you are.
You will care how capable you feel.
You will care that you protected your body.

If this is the season you’re in, I’m here to help you build muscle, protect bone, and create a plan that supports the whole picture — not just the number.

What are you prioritizing right now — smaller… or stronger? 💪

Top 3 things I truly don’t care about as your instructor:

1️⃣ I don’t care if you modify, slow it down, or take breaks.
Listening to your body is the win. Always. If today means fewer reps, getting off the beat, or pausing to breathe➡️ you’re doing it right.

2️⃣ I don’t care if you come late.
Life is full. Getting something in is always better than nothing. Walk in, warm up a little, jump where you can, and let the rest go.

3️⃣ I don’t care if today isn’t your best workout ever.
Not every day is about crushing it. Some days are about showing up, moving a little, and feeding off the energy of the room.
That’s what this space is about.
Support. Community. Consistency, NOT perfection.
