Rosie Woods DiMare so beautiful I had to share.

We had the best time at a women's empowerment event this week! Part of our Noelle Salon team set up a table with extension samples and hair toppers and did live demos on the mannequin. A lot of the conversations turned into honest talks about thinning hair and confidence, which is exactly why we do this work.

Thank you to every woman who stopped by. If you'd like to continue the conversation, consultations are free at our Melrose studio, serving Boston and the North Shore.

What's one thing that makes you feel most like yourself? 💬

I get asked all the time what the most natural-looking hair topper is. My answer is usually skin lace.

Once it's cut in with a few little baby hairs at the front, you really can't see where the topper ends and your own hair begins. The part looks like it's growing right out of the scalp.

But it isn't the right choice for everyone. Skin lace works best when the thinning is spread out (diffuse hair loss) or covers a larger area. If your hair loss is more in one spot, I'd usually go with a smaller base or a mesh integration instead. I'll cover that in the next video.

If you're dealing with thinning and not sure what would work for you, come in for a consultation. We're in Melrose, MA, just north of Boston, and we see clients from all over the North Shore. Book at noellesalon.com or send us a message.

Is your thinning more all over, or in one spot? Tell me in the comments and I'll tell you which base I'd pick. 👇

What do you do when your hair topper can no longer clip in? We get creative! ❤️

This client lost hair due to illness and head surgery. She loved her topper, but could no longer clip it into her own hair. So I attached it to a comfortable wig cap—and she’s back in action!

After 35 years working with all types of hair loss, I know how personal finding the right solution can be. Hair toppers, wigs, mesh integration, or extensions where suitable—we can create a solution around your needs and comfort.

She came to us after losing about ¾ of her hair. A lot of women in her spot are told a wig is the only option. It isn't. 💛

Here's what we did (swipe to see each step):
1️⃣ A mesh underlayment, cut to the shape of her head. Her own hair pulls through and is secured with small beads. No glue.
2️⃣ A hair topper for fullness at the crown, plus sew-in extensions for length and density
3️⃣ It stays attached for 8 weeks at a time, then she comes in for maintenance

Why is it better than a wig? There's nothing to take off at night or put back on every morning, and it moves like her own hair.

We do this for all types of hair loss, including alopecia, trichotillomania and genetic thinning. Every client starts with a private consultation.

She came to me with 3/4 of her hair gone — trichotillomania had taken more than just hair, it had taken her confidence to leave the house without a hat on. Building her mesh integration wasn't a quick fix. It took hours of sectioning, securing wefts one row at a time, making sure every edge disappeared into her own hairline so nobody would ever know it wasn't hers.

This is the work I got into this industry for. Not just color or extensions — but giving someone their hair, and a piece of themselves, back. Hair loss work is my life's passion, and pieces like this remind me why.

The mesh base she's wearing now supports a topper or sew-in wefts, protects the hair she has left from more pulling, and only needs maintenance every 8 weeks. Reusable, comfortable, and hers.

If you or someone you love is dealing with hair loss, I'd be honored to help. You can book at the link in bio, or send me a DM if you want to talk it through first. Melrose, MA — just north of Boston.

Most of our extension clients end up choosing K-tips, and it's not random — each strand goes in individually, so we space them to match your actual hair density instead of forcing a fixed row. They also hold up longer between fills than tape-ins, so you're not back in the chair as often.

We've got same-day K-tip openings this week for anyone in Melrose, Boston, or the North Shore who's been meaning to book. 🔗 https://noellesalon.com/products/same-day-hair-extensions-all-methods

Yes, your hair changes as you age! 💇‍♀️ That's the title of a new Yahoo Shopping article on keeping hair long, healthy and strong, and I'm honored they included my advice. Thank you, Kris Scott! 🎉

After over 30 years in the industry, here's some of what I told them, and what I tell clients at Noelle Salon & Spa in Melrose, MA every week:

✨ Skip the daily flat iron. It becomes a vicious cycle of damage.
✨ Go easy on bleach. It's harder on the hair shaft than almost anything else we do.
✨ Ask about nanoplasty for frizzy hair. It repairs the hair and leaves it shiny.
✨ If GLP-1 medications have you shedding, a realistic hair topper is a legitimate, temporary bridge while your hair recovers, not a last resort.

We help women across Boston and the North Shore with hair toppers, hair extensions and nanoplasty. Message us or book a consultation at noellesalon.com.
