As the seasons shift, proactive wellness support can be part of your routine. Glutathione is an antioxidant your body produces naturally. It supports the liver’s natural detoxification processes, helps boost the immune system, supports a healthy inflammatory response, and contributes to healthy energy.
At Smoky Mountain Hydration, glutathione IV or injection services are administered by a registered nurse in a calm, boutique spa-like setting. This is educational information and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent illness.
Serving Maryville, Alcoa, Blount County, and surrounding areas. We’re open by appointment, with availability shown in the booking portal on our website.

Feeling under the weather? Honest information matters.
An immune-support IV may support hydration and provide targeted nutrients when clinically appropriate, but it does not cure or prevent a cold or flu. It is not a substitute for primary, urgent, or emergency medical care, and it is not appropriate for anyone with an active fever.
Clients must be fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours before an appointment. If symptoms are severe, worsening, or concerning, please contact your healthcare provider or seek appropriate medical care.

Feeling under the weather? Before considering immune-support IV therapy, it’s important to understand what it can, and can’t, do.
Our newest blog explains the honest limits: immune-support IV therapy will not cure a cold or flu, prevent illness, or replace primary, urgent, or emergency care. It may be considered as part of supportive wellness care when appropriate.
For a Myers PLUS Glutathione appointment, the client must be fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours.

Feeling run-down after an illness? Our new blog takes an honest look at what immune support IV therapy can, and can’t, do.
After an acute illness has passed, nurse-administered IV wellness services may support hydration and nutrient intake. Options may include Myers blends, Myers PLUS Glutathione, Immunity Boost, and the Trifecta shot. Glutathione may help support the immune system, reduce inflammation, and assist the liver’s natural detoxification processes.
What it cannot do: IV therapy does not cure or prevent a cold or flu, and it is not a replacement for medical care. Clients must be fever-free without fever-reducing medication for 24–36 hours before an immune support infusion.

Healthy aging is a proactive process, and cellular health is part of the conversation.
NAD+ is a substance your body naturally produces, but levels tend to decrease with age. NAD+ supports cellular energy and is involved in processes related to DNA repair and telomere protection, making it a consideration for a healthy-aging and longevity routine.
At Smoky Mountain Hydration, NAD+ infusions are administered by a registered nurse in our calm, boutique spa-like setting. NAD+ appointments must be scheduled no later than 12 PM.
We proudly serve Maryville, Alcoa, Blount County, and surrounding areas. We are open by appointment only, with availability shown in the online booking portal at smokymtnhydration.com.

PROTEIN AND GLP-1 MEDICATIONS — WHY IT COMES UP SO OFTEN
If you've talked to anyone managing their weight on a GLP-1 medication, you've probably heard about protein. There's a reason it comes up constantly — it genuinely matters in this context more than in most.
WHY PROTEIN INTAKE IS CRITICAL ON GLP-1s
When you're in a caloric deficit — which GLP-1s help create by reducing appetite — your body needs fuel. The goal is for that fuel to come from fat stores. But the body can also pull from muscle tissue, especially if protein intake is too low.
Adequate protein intake does two important things:
🔹 Preserves lean muscle mass while weight is being lost
🔹 Helps you feel fuller longer, reducing the likelihood of eating too little overall
HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH
A general starting point for people on GLP-1 medications: aim for 0.7–1g of protein per pound of body weight daily. That's higher than most people currently eat, and it requires some intentionality.
Good sources: eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, lean beef, legumes, protein powder if needed.
THE PRACTICAL CHALLENGE
GLP-1s reduce appetite broadly. It's easy to not feel hungry for protein-rich foods and end up eating mostly carbohydrates, which don't offer the same preservation effect. Tracking — at least loosely — helps.
THE TAKEAWAY
If you're on a GLP-1 medication, treat protein as part of the protocol, not optional. It directly affects how your body responds to the medication long-term.
