Color Specialist Hey guys I would like to introduce myself. My name is Melanie Johnson and I'm from Germany . I have been in the Hair business for 14Years.
And love making my clients feel and look pretty , I specialize in all things in color and simply enjoy what I do. So come on up I do my magic at Belle Cabana!!
3 things I immediately notice when you sit in my chair š
Your hair tells me A LOT. And honestly, before you even sit down, I can usually get a pretty good idea of whatās been going on.
Some of the things I look at:
š How your hair actually feels
š What your ends are looking like
š What youāve been doing to your hair since I last saw you
All of this helps me figure out what we should do today, what your hair can handle, and whatās actually going to get you closer to your hair goals.
And I promise Iām not judging you š
I just notice EVERYTHING!

I have so many clients come to me saying their hair feels dull, frizzy, or just not like itself, and they canāt figure out why!
Then I ask them how theyāre washing their hair.
And usually, we find the problem š
So I put together a few little things you might be doing without even realizing they could be working against your hair.

If the front of your hair is fading within a week, READ THIS š
As a hairstylist, this is something I hear ALL the time!
š āI swear my color was perfect when I left!ā
The reality is that your front pieces can fade faster than the rest of your hair for SO many different reasons.
Things like skincare, heat, washing, the sun, and our hands can all play a part.
If you want to keep them looking fresh:
ā”ļø use color-safe shampoo + conditioner
ā”ļø wash with cooler water
ā”ļø keep skincare off your hair as much as possible
ā”ļø use heat protectant every time you style
ā”ļø protect your hair from the sun
Little changes like these can help your color stay fresh for longer between appointments š¤
But if itās time for a retouch, I usually recommend refreshing your color every 6ā8 weeks depending on your color and hair goals!
Donāt wait until itās completely faded out!

Sometimes what your hair needs isnāt a full color appointment, but just a gloss or toner!
It sounds super similar, but theyāre actually doing two very different jobs in your hair!
Some visits weāre fixing tone; other visits weāre bringing the shine back.
It all depends on your hair and it needsā¦thatās why I never just āpick oneā
I know it can be a little confusing, so letās break it down:
š Toner: neutralizes unwanted tones (like brassiness)
š Gloss: adds shine, richness + refreshes your color
If your hairās been feeling a little off lately this might be your fix!
