Since 1980, these doors have been part of Berkeley County’s hair history. Styles have changed. Generations have changed. The industry has completely reinvented itself — more than once.

And 9 West is still here.

Not because we’ve tried to look like every new salon that comes along, but because we’ve never needed to.

We’re privately owned, locally rooted, and home to independent booth-rental professionals who have built businesses, reputations and a loyal clientele of their own.

There’s no corporate blueprint here.

Each professional manages their own schedule, services, pricing and appointments. That’s also why 9 West is an appointment-only studio — our space is intentionally designed around the clients scheduled with the professionals behind our doors.

It’s independent by design.

Are we conventional? No. And that’s entirely intentional. 9 West has never been interested in fitting the traditional salon mold. And after more than four decades, we think our space should reflect exactly who we’ve become.

So yes… things are changing inside 9 West.
