One of the most common questions we get:
“Is this basically tanning?”
Nope. Not even close.
Tanning uses ultraviolet (UV) radiation to intentionally expose the skin to UV light, which stimulates changes in skin pigment.
Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared wavelengths and is studied for a very different type of biological interaction called photobiomodulation. And because “red light” can sound a little vague if you’ve never experienced it before, we’re spending 15 days breaking it down. (not to mention that “photobiomodulation” is not exactly an everyday word or concept for most of us!).
We’ll talk about:
What it is.
What researchers are studying.
What you can expect.
And what it isn’t.
Because when you’re trying something new, “just trust us” isn’t particularly helpful. We’d rather give you the information and let you decide if it’s something you want to try.
What kinds of questions do you have about red light therapy?
10/07/2026
Red light therapy isn’t tanning.
It isn’t UV light.
And it isn’t simply “a red light shining on you.”
The wavelengths matter.
𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is an area of ongoing research, with studies looking at applications ranging from skin health to certain types of pain and tissue recovery.
We’re here to help you understand the experience - not promise you a miracle.

I have a question for you: "What do you want to ghost this October?"
And no, I don't necessarily mean your boss. (Although if that's your answer, I totally get it!). I'm talking about the things taking up way too much space in your brain:
Your inbox.
Your laundry.
Your phone.
Your never-ending to-do list.
The family group chat.
The person who keeps asking you for things.
What if you just... ghosted it?
Not forever. I'm talking about just for one hour.
Let's have a little fun at Aquapodics during the month of October: Tell us what you're ready to temporarily disappear from for a chance to win a FREE FLOAT
You can leave a comment telling us what you want to ghost on our social media giveaway posts (Facebook here (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552001410274) and Instagram here (https://www.instagram.com/aquapodicsmqt/) ). Or, if you want to make this more entertaining, create your own ghost photo or Reel, tag , and tell us what you'd like to ghost this month!
We want to see what you're ready to leave behind.
Because underneath the ridiculousness, there's something we actually believe:
You can be a good mom, dad, partner, son, daughter, employee, business owner, friend, or human and still occasionally want to crawl under a sheet and yell:
“EVERYBODY LEAVE ME ALONE.”
Maybe you'll win and we'll see you floating in the dark, blissfully unavailable to everyone and everything for an hour.
That sounds pretty good to me.
- Heidi

There’s something really special about building a business in the place you call home.
Aquapodics isn’t some big, faceless wellness brand. It’s a locally owned little space in Marquette, created by people who actually live here and care about the community around us. That matters to us.
Because when you’re local, the people who walk through your door aren’t just customers.
They’re your neighbors.
They’re the people you see around town.
They’re the person who was nervous to try a float and came back because they finally felt comfortable.
They’re the person who tells a friend, “You should really try this.”
We want Aquapodics to be that kind of place….where you can walk through the door and feel like you belong there. That feels like a Marquette kind of place to us, wouldn’t you agree?
Whether you’ve floated with us already, you’re thinking about trying it, or you’re just here because you’re curious about what we’re creating -
We’re really glad you’re here.
If you’ve been thinking about trying a float but you’ve been talking yourself out of it because you’re nervous, I want you to know something: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲.
People worry about all kinds of things before their first float.
“What if I can’t relax?”
“What if I don’t like the dark?”
“What if I feel claustrophobic?”
“What if my brain won’t shut up?”
And honestly? Those are all completely reasonable questions. We had them too at our first float.
You don’t have to know exactly what you’re doing. You just have to walk through the door. 𝘞𝘦’𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵.
