Hi! 🤠 Right now my Breathe Better and Pain Gone Blends are out of stock. I did not expect to sell out of these so quickly but with the seasonal change lung stuff and inflammation was at the top of what owners were getting. My next restock shipment arrives this week.

Along with that, ingredients are also coming for my current blends to be boosted with Copra Meal & Camelina Oil for mixing ability.

There will be the option to have the original blend with just the powdered herbs or to have the boost version.

For those that are already feeding these ingredients separately, this is huge! Less for you to do and think about.

Until then, the Gut & Ulcer Healing Guide is marked ⬇️ until the end of October.

Comment GUIDE for the exact link you will need to get it at the mark ⬇️

I’ll alert via my email list when these two blends come back into stock. Join that on my website. Happy Sunday!

🔥 It’s inflammation season!

There can be many factors that trigger inflammation in the body, but the season change is one of them.

Autumn is here and as the weather changes, so do grass sugars, daylight hours, and hormone levels, all of which can challenge the horses system and tip those already prone to inflammation into discomfort.

This week alone I heard of a friends horse who foundered and have seen a client horse for laminitis and body comfort, as well as been watching my own.

Noticing the first signs of change in your horses body, behavior or temperament can make a huge difference. Early awareness means you can step in quickly with the right support before things escalate.

Your vet is always the first call.

While prevention is always better than cure, life sometimes gets in the way and before you know it, your horse is showing signs of sore & inflamed hooves/body.

Inflammation can creep in so subtly that it starts to look normal for your horse.

Here are some of the early clues to watch for:

▪️Rancid smell & sloppy consistency of poo
▪️Sweating without exertion
▪️Stiffness or reluctance to move
▪️Strong or bounding pulses
▪️Raised temperature
▪️Puffiness around the eyes
▪️Dullness in the eyes ( no sparkle)
▪️Weepy eyes
▪️Uneven fat lumps on body (typically at crest of neck and top of tail)
▪️Lack of interest
▪️Lethargy / low mood
▪️Fatigue after light work
▪️Respiratory issues
▪️Aggression or irritability
▪️Exercise intolerance
▪️Sore, tight muscles
▪️Swollen Sheath or Teats
▪️Redness in the hoof wall, more easily seen on white hooves

These are all signs of a horse carrying a high level of systemic inflammation.

Reduction of inflammation begins with looking at the ingredients going into their mouth, the environment, pain and emotional stress. Just because you don’t think your horse is in pain or stressed, doesn’t mean that they aren’t. The above list are just a few clues into inflammation = body is stressed.

Comment GUIDE for my diet guide to walk you in cutting inflammation out immediately so you can reduce the progression of acute/chronic inflammation.

Chief has had a recent bout with colic as well as laminitis, so his massage yesterday was to help bring relief after being on stall rest. He resisted walking at the start of the session, had a very tight abdomen and goat on rock body stance. By the end of the session his belly was relaxed, his stance better on his hind end and his low back was less tense.
He breathed sighs of release, lowered his head and soaked up alllllllll the craniosacral work I did on his forehead. I muscle taped his front legs, tight shoulder fascia, along his entire back for support as well as his glutes. With options for Scoot Boots in the future once he’s back to being ridden, I’ll be sending SisUgut herbs to help with emotional stress and pain related to gut health during this time, Pain Gone herbs to help with inflammation and pain and owners get a download to my Gut & Ulcer Healing Guide.

True healing and wellness is a whole body thing.
I support owners and their horses with preventative measures and encourage them to reach their goals.

Horses who have intolerant owners who don’t know how to hold comfortable space for them are very guarded in their emotions and body.

I aim to teach owners how to do this by allowing them to experience this in sessions with me while I work on their horse or in a session when they get a massage with me.

Experiencing a combined horse and rider Selah Session side by side with your horse takes it to the next level.

I accept haul ins to me for these types of sessions.
Ask me about it! I have very few of them left for this year before the weather is too cool and we will wait until the Spring 🩷🖤

My intake form is detailed and asks questions regarding horse personality, lifestyle, past health and current health.
Many questions that pertain to Chinese medicine and flags me to underlying issues. By the time owners reach out to me for bodywork, the symptoms have been screaming for a while.

A gelding came to me for cribbing. Ten years old, a thoroughbred, and the owner had been told for years that it was a stable vice and a habit she was not going to break.

He also happened to be girthy, bloated after meals, and food aggressive at feeding time. Nobody had ever put those four things in the same sentence.

Four behaviors. One system. When I laid out his diet, lifestyle, training schedule, and management all in order, the owner said something I hear constantly, some version of "nobody ever asked me about all of it at once."

That sentence is the reason my intake process is as long as it is. Owners have been trained to bring one complaint to an appointment. To focus on the symptom, not the whole picture. The pattern only becomes visible when somebody insists on seeing the whole animal and its entire life.

Vices are frequently not vices. They are communication, and they are usually saying something quite specific.

What behavior has your horse been written off for? Even if it’s not a “traditional” vice. I would genuinely like to know.

I’m so excited that Scoot Boot came out with Fuchsia as a color for straps! It’s our color! It took me five minutes to swap out the straps and now we are ready for the parade. Scoot Boots are much safer on pavement than metal shoes. On the trail, they protect the entire bottom of the hoof. 🩷🖤

The “head down” solution is not a tie down.

It’s bodywork and strengthening to ensure the horse can physically hold their posture and body mechanics properly.

It’s also asking and cueing and teaching this to the horse instead of forcing it.

If the horse is holding its head high or it shoots up abnormally higher when speed is added - this is caused for a raised eyebrow.
