Tell me I’m not the only wig wearer who has thought about this… 😂

I was on my way to the dentist and had that little thought in the back of my mind: Is my wig going to stay put when they lay that chair all the way back?!

So I thought I’d show you exactly what I did to make sure my wig felt secure before I headed in.

Today I’m wearing Loryn by Rene of Paris, and underneath I’m using my Glameleon Dual-Sided Silicone Wig Grip with Elastic. Those silicone strips help grip both your head AND your wig, while the elastic back keeps everything comfortable and secure.

No glue. No adhesive. Just a little extra wig security so I can worry about the dentist instead. 😂🦷

What do I look for when I pick a wig? 🤔

After wearing wigs for five years, I’ve definitely learned what I like—and what I don’t! 😂 There were some very specific things I was looking for in my next wig, and Verona by Estetica checked ALL the boxes. 🙌💕

I’m wearing Verona in RH12/26RT4, and in this video I’m breaking down some of the things I consider when choosing a wig and why those little details can make such a big difference.

If you’re newer to wigs, hopefully this gives you a few things to think about when you’re trying to decide which wig is right for YOU. Because the prettiest wig in the stock photo isn’t necessarily the one that’s going to work best for your needs!

But here’s the thing — I personally don’t own a curly wig that has ever been absolutely perfect right out of the box. Sometimes those curls just need a little help waking up!

Today I’m showing you Fresh Chic by Gabor in SS Honey Toast. She’s a regular synthetic, curly style with a lace front, and with just a little water and a little styling, we’re going to take her from “What is happening here?” to Fresh AND Chic. 💁‍♀️✨

This is exactly why I always say: See the wig in the wild before you buy it. Stock photos and that first out-of-the-box moment don’t always show you what a wig can really do.

So before you decide a curly wig isn’t for you, give those curls a chance to come to life!

Before you decide you love—or hate—the color of a wig, change the lighting!

The exact same wig can look completely different depending on where you’re standing. Bathroom lighting, indoor lighting, shade, direct sunlight… they can all change the way your eye sees those tones.

So when you’re trying to decide if a wig color is right for you:

✨ Look at it in several different rooms
☀️ Take it outside in natural light
🌤️ Check it in both shade and sunlight
📱 And if you’re shopping online, watch videos and reviews of the color in different lighting conditions.
