The mental test that helped me keep off 60+ pounds naturally!
When you start paying attention, it’s wild how often we reach for food out of habit, stress, or boredom rather than actual physical hunger.
To keep myself on track with my muscle building and health goals, I use a simple mental filter:
1️⃣ I visualize a basic, healthy, goal-aligned food option.
2️⃣ If that sounds appetizing, my body genuinely needs energy, so I choose a healthy meal to nourish it.
3️⃣ If I only want specific comfort foods, I recognize it as psychological hunger, pause, and address what my body actually needs (water, rest, or a quick distraction).
Honoring real hunger while spotting cravings is a superpower on any fitness journey. 🔥
Monday sets the tone for the entire week, so I never skip this workout. Honestly, today was a little tough. I had my monthly gift, if you know you know. But it did not stop me.
Back when I was 60 pounds heavier, Mondays used to feel like a mountain I could not climb. Now, this is where I build my momentum. We are not relying on motivation today. We are relying on discipline and the choices we make for our health.
Let's get after it. No excuses. Drop a comment and tell me what workout you are crushing today.
After losing my mom, I hit rock bottom. I was severely depressed, dealing with constant heartburn, and my joints always ached. I was eating processed food for every single meal. I could not blame anyone else. It was my own daily choices.
When doctors kept handing me prescriptions instead of addressing my nutrition, I realized a hard truth. No one is going to save you. You have to care enough to save yourself.
I traded the processed food for clean eating and started moving my body. 60+ pounds dropped naturally, and every single health issue disappeared.
If you are waiting for a sign to finally put yourself first, this is it. You have 100% control over your health. We only get one life. Make it count.
For the first time in many years, I put on a bathing suit, and it felt absolutely incredible. I felt confident, proud, and so grateful for the hard work I have put into my body.
I am not sharing this to shame anyone, but to speak directly to the person I used to be. Back when I was over 200 pounds, I would completely avoid any gathering that involved a bathing suit. I hid my body because I felt too embarrassed and full of shame to show myself.
I know this might not relate to everyone, but if you are currently doing exactly what I used to do, please take action today. Start bettering your health, building your dream body, and earning your confidence back. The mental freedom of finally stepping into your own power is worth every single day of discipline. Stop hiding and start showing up for yourself today! 👙✨
A diet usually has an end date, but learning your portions is the absolute key to this entire fitness journey. If you want true long term success, you have to stop looking for temporary restrictions, learn how to manage your portions, and start building a healthy relationship with food.
Let's be honest about the trendy, restrictive diets out there. Yes, cutting out entire food groups or eliminating your favorite treats can help you lose weight fast. But for the vast majority of people, being that restrictive is completely unsustainable. You usually end up quitting because nobody wants to live a life of constant deprivation.
While a select few might be able to maintain that rigid lifestyle, it is incredibly hard for most people to stick to it for the long run.
That is why learning your portions is key to all of this. Success is about eating a well balanced diet where no specific food groups are banned. When you stop fearing carbs or treats and start mastering true portion control, everything changes. You learn how to fuel your body with a well balanced diet, enjoy your life, and stay consistent without feeling miserable.
Stop choosing diets that have an expiration date. Focus on learning your portions, eat a well balanced diet, and build habits that you can actually maintain forever!
When I first started my natural weight loss journey, my only goal was to drop the fat. But as my body changed, I completely fell in love with seeing my muscles pop, and my focus shifted from just shrinking to getting strong and toned.
Let's be real about a huge myth: building a chiseled physique is not a couple of months thing. Unless you are genetically gifted, sculpting muscle takes years of consistent hard work and dedication. I learned this the hard way after naturally losing over 60 plus pounds.
If you have been working out for a few months and feel discouraged because you don’t look toned yet, please do not give up. It takes years to build a masterpiece, but the process is incredibly rewarding. Stay patient, trust the slow timeline, and keep pushing! 🏋️♀️✨
The biggest myth in the fitness world is that successful people are constantly inspired. They aren’t. Motivation is just a feeling, and feelings come and go. It is highly unreliable.
When I was at my heaviest, I used to waste so much time waiting for that perfect spark of energy to get me moving. But the truth is, that spark rarely comes on the days you actually need it.
The real secret to hitting your long term goals isn’t motivation, it is building momentum and discipline over time.
Discipline means showing up for yourself every single day, especially on the exact days you do not feel like it. It means:
Prepping your meals even when you are tired
Sticking to your portion sizes even when you want to wing it
Putting on your shoes and moving your body even when your brain is making excuses
Momentum is created by action, not by waiting around. Every single time you override your lack of motivation and choose to show up anyway, you lock in a new layer of discipline.
Stop letting a temporary feeling dictate your permanent health. Stop waiting for the perfect day, grab your food scale, hit your targets, and start building the habits that will carry you across the finish line. ⚖️🔥
