my realistic morning skincare routine

My priority list:

1. Daily sunscreen, Vitamin C + a retinoid (~$200)
I’d keep skincare simple and spend on the things I know actually work. You do not need a 10-step routine or a $200 moisturizer.

2. Conservative Botox 1–2x/year (~$400)
I’d use Botox strategically, not try to freeze every muscle in my face. I’d prioritize the areas that give me the biggest aesthetic payoff and still keep natural movement

3. ONE treatment targeted to my biggest skin concern (~$500)
Pigment/redness → BBL/IPL
Texture/scarring → microneedling
Sun damage → laser/peel depending on your skin

4. I would save whatever is left.
I would NOT spend this budget on random facials every month, expensive skincare just because it’s expensive, or filler simply because I felt like I needed to “do something.”

After working in dermatology, plastic surgery + aesthetics, one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that more treatments ≠ better face.

I think the biggest thing I’ve learned with my hair is that “wavy” doesn’t tell you everything about how you should take care of it!!

My hair is VERY fine, so it gets weighed down super easily. A lot of typical curly hair advice like tons of moisture, layering products, and going forever between washes just does not work for me.

Fine hair has a smaller strand diameter, which is part of why even a little too much product can make such a noticeable difference. For me, less really is more.

Fine hair first, wavy hair second.
