90 days ago I picked up a pickleball paddle and accidentally developed a personality.

Since then I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time watching serve tutorials, talking about pickleball to people who absolutely did not ask, and getting way too excited about things like grip pressure and third-shot drops.

The best part, though, has been being a beginner again. There’s something humbling about being bad at something, slowly getting a little less bad, and finding genuine joy in the process. Every small improvement feels like a win, every good shot feels accidental, and every session reminds me how much fun it is to learn.

What I didn’t expect was how great the community would be. Along the way I’ve met a bunch of awesome people, made some genuinely great friends, and found myself looking forward to the conversations and laughs just as much as the games themselves.

I’m having an absurd amount of fun getting better each day.

Ran outta gas in AZ en route to Havasupai. 6 miles to next station. AAA 2 hours away. No uber. 1 bar of service. Coasting on vibes.
