Michael, from the moment I met you years ago, our connection was something cosmic, almost as if it was being guided by an invisible force greater than us both. God. The universe. Laura. Some invisible thread quietly weaving its way between us, pulling two lives toward one another…

And through it all, I’ve never met anyone who has truly seen me the way that you have. Looked into my soul… the deepest, painful parts and also the softness that I’ve reserved within me, waiting for the right person to let go and dive in. You have known me through my becoming and unbecoming.

We have both held up a mirror to each other, to look inward at ourselves, and stood by each other while the other finds themselves again. Not ever trying to change the other, but simply reminding each other that they are not alone anymore…

And through all the changes, transformations, and obstacles… we never gave up on OUR story.

And so, I told you when we first became friends that “you are the greatest person I’ve ever met.” How I’ve seen you has never changed. I love the person you are when no one else is looking. Your mind. Your heart.

You are numinous. As though the cosmos found its way into human form. A soul that feels strangely familiar, as if some part of me had always known you before I ever knew your name. And to this day, you remain the quiet place beyond the stars where I have always belonged.

First, as my dearest friend. Then, my home. My eternal crush. And now, my fiancé.

You never really know where life is guiding you.

Growing up along the California coast, I never could have imagined that my path would one day lead me to the opposite side of the country… to a slower life tucked away in the forests of Ohio.

Somehow, it led me to the man of my dreams. To helping raise the kindest boy. To finding a community filled with the closest friends. To building a family. To creating a home we can truly call our own, and discovering a version of happiness I never knew existed 🖤

If there’s one thing this season has taught me, it’s that the most beautiful chapters are often the ones you never could have planned. Sometimes the life you’re meant for looks nothing like the one you imagined… and somehow, it’s even better.
