At 40, my skin looks better than it did at 25.
And no, it’s not only because of the amazing products I use on my face.
It’s because my lifestyle is completely different.
In my 20s and early 30s, I lived the kind of life that almost guaranteed inflammation.
I worked in sales.
12–13 hour days.
Constant travel.
Hotels every week.
Stress all the time.
I ate whatever was available:
pizza, pasta, bread, takeout, Chinese food, Panera, Chipotle, airport food, random snacks between meetings.
Coffee nonstop.
Red wine.
Cheese.
Smoking.
Partying.
Little sleep.
And somehow I was confused about why my skin kept breaking out.
Meanwhile I was covering everything with makeup, picking at pimples, creating marks, irritating my skin even more… and calling it “skincare.”
Back then, I thought skincare meant products.
Now I understand skin is a reflection of how you live.
Stress shows up on the skin.
Inflammation shows up on the skin.
Poor sleep shows up on the skin.
Blood sugar swings show up on the skin.
Burnout shows up on the skin.
At 40, my skin isn’t better because I found some magical cream.
It’s better because my nervous system is calmer (with more room for improvement)
My lifestyle is slower.
My food is cleaner.
My hormones make more sense to me.
And I finally stopped fighting my skin.
Most people are trying to treat their skin… without treating the life behind it.
Your skin is constantly communicating with you.
The question is: are you listening to it or fighting it?

A lot of women think they suddenly developed “bad skin” after 35.
But in reality, the skin is just less forgiving than it used to be.
Stress shows up faster.
Sleep becomes visible.
Inflammation lasts longer.
Hormones get louder.
And aggressive treatments that once “worked” can suddenly backfire.
Skin after 35 usually needs a different approach:
less attacking,
less trends,
more support, consistency, and strategy.
A lot of what worked in your 20s simply does not work the same anymore.
But that does not mean your skin cannot look healthy, strong, and beautiful.
It just means the strategy has to evolve too. 🤍
📍If you’re tired of guessing what your skin needs, that’s exactly what I help my clients figure out.

Nobody wants to hear this, but inflammation ages people faster than birthdays do.
Not just inflammation from food.
I’m talking about the kind modern life quietly normalizes:
poor sleep,
constant cortisol,
burnout,
overstimulation,
processed food,
chronic stress,
emotional exhaustion,
surviving on caffeine,
never slowing down,
living in fight-or-flight for years.
Eventually the body starts prioritizing survival over repair.
And the face reflects it.
Skin becomes duller.
Healing slows down.
Inflammation lingers longer.
The face looks more tired.
The skin becomes reactive.
Everything suddenly feels “aging.”
Meanwhile women are being taught to panic over wrinkles while completely ignoring the environment their body is functioning in every single day.
This is also why some women look younger at 45 than they did at 35.
Less inflammation.
More regulation.
Better boundaries.
Better sleep.
More nourishment.
Less chaos.
Because youthfulness is not only about the absence of wrinkles.
Sometimes it’s the absence of chronic internal stress.
What’s one lifestyle change that improved your skin more than skincare ever did?

As an esthetician with 12 plus years of experience, I know that “sensitive skin” is rarely just about products.
So many women come in saying:
“My skin suddenly became sensitive.”
But when we look deeper, it’s often happening alongside:
high stress,
poor sleep,
burnout,
digestive issues,
hormonal changes,
blood sugar imbalance,
or a nervous system that’s been running on survival mode for way too long.
And eventually…
the skin starts reacting too.
More redness.
More inflammation.
More reactivity.
More irritation.
Skin that suddenly “can’t handle anything.”
Sometimes sensitive skin isn’t just about the skin.
This is exactly why I’ve been expanding my approach beyond treatments and products alone- focusing more on the connection between skin, hormones, stress, inflammation, gut health, and the nervous system.
Because the body works as one system.
