Before and after
I know I've probably made posts on doing checks and rechecking, but it bares repeating. (and everyone loves a before and after)

Checking and rechecking, sometimes it's more observation, sometimes it's actually testing (ROM, muscle test, pain signs, orthopedic test).
Definitely an improvement here in controlling hip extension but also closer to being equal side to side with that extension. There's still some work to be done in future appointments.
Tracking these changes, beginning of session and session to session, over time can provide great information and hone in our treatment plan.

Happy mothers day to all the mamas and to all the mamas to be!

Supportive kinesiotape for the baby bumps.

This helps take off some of the pressure that pulls forward due to the weight of that baby bump.
This growing baby can change posture and add pressure and compression to the lower back
Kinesiotape can give a little and much needed relief.

Corporate chair massage
Worked an event in Saint Pete for a bunch of busy professionals. This was a great opportunity to take care of some busy people and of course give a little bit of education.
One thing I noticed was that there was a lot of acceptance of an issue... lower back, neck, shoulders, knees. From old sports injuries, car accidents, desk work and and a lot of I don't know it just started.
Because these are busy business people there's a lot of "life gets in the way" scenarios. Tough through the pain and ignore it, until you can't anymore. The body will adjust for the pain, sometimes subconsciously sometimes consciously. Borrowing strength and stability and/or flexibility and mobility from other places.
A neck "kink" becomes a mid back or shoulder issue. A tight/stiff hip becomes a lower back or knee issue. Even a sprained ankle can affects up the chain and cause an issue somewhere else. And, because "life gets in the way" we avoid, ignore, find a way to deal.
Having body awareness is important. The next step is realizing we can affect change in our own bodies.
Do you know if your body is in need of stability or is it mobility? Is it increased circulation or reducing inflammation? Is it re-education? Relearning a movement pattern or breaking an old one?
If any of these sounds like something you might need help figuring out message/comment. Lets see what's going on and get you working toward your goal, moving better and feeling better on your time at your pace.

Shoulder complex work
Freeing up tissue in and around the shoulder is one of those things that can make a huge difference in range of motion and pain. Its not always the most fun. There are some sensitive areas, especially if there are restrictions in the tissue. Whether they're from fascia or scar tissue or muscle spasm. Areas that don't get "worked on" or have external pressure put on them have less tolerance (more sensitive/ more tender)
This is one of the reasons the longer someone puts off or ignores an issue the more tender that area is. The body protects around it, restricts movement, compensates, adapts a new pattern, changes leverage points, and uses muscles that may not be fully prepared to take on this new load. Then cycle can repeat. Making areas more and more sensitive.
The idea here, as I'm working on someone is to free up space, mobilize the shoulder joint, free up tissue, allow some activation (loading) in safe areas, decrease the sensitivity and protective reactions that may stall recovery and healing. While increasing the circulation which helps the healing process as well.
If your goal is to recover better, move better, and feel better in 2026 reach out, leave a comment, or shoot me a message.
