🌸 PALMAROSA DEEP DIVE
Getting to Know Your Oils
The Oil of Emotional Growth & Maturity 💗
🌸 DON'T HAVE PALMAROSA? KEEP READING!
Palmarosa was a limited-release doTERRA essential oil, so not everyone was able to get a bottle!
But don't skip this one just because you don't have it. I'm also sharing oils you may already own that can create a similar aromatic and emotional experience.
Today we're exploring its aroma, traditional uses, personality, emotional associations, and some beautiful blends inspired by it.
🌿 FIRST, WHAT EXACTLY IS PALMAROSA?
Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii) is actually a grass, not a rose!
It's related to Lemongrass and Citronella, but its aroma is surprisingly different.
Think soft, rosy, floral, slightly grassy, and fresh.
One of its main natural aromatic components is geraniol, which is also found in Rose and Geranium essential oils.
This is part of what gives Palmarosa its beautiful floral character.
🌸 WHY WOULD YOU USE PALMAROSA?
1. Skin Care & Mature Skin
Palmarosa is often found in cosmetic and personal-care products.
It's a lovely addition to a properly diluted skincare routine, especially if you enjoy botanical products.
Think:
- Healthy-looking skin
- Moisturizing body oils
- Mature-skin self-care routines
- Relaxing facial massage rituals
- Fresh-smelling botanical skincare
It's a wonderful example of how essential oils can add an aromatic element to your everyday skincare routine.
💗 2. Relaxation & Emotional Comfort
Sometimes you don't need an energizing oil.
You want something that feels soft, comforting, and nurturing.
Palmarosa has a delicate floral aroma that makes it a beautiful choice for an evening diffuser blend or relaxing massage.
I especially like pairing it with Copaiba, Lavender, Frankincense, or Cedarwood.
🌿 3. Freshness & Personal Care
Palmarosa's rosy, fresh scent works beautifully in:
- Natural personal fragrances
- Room and linen sprays
- Botanical deodorant blends
- Diffuser blends
- Homemade personal-care products
It's a fun oil to experiment with when you want something floral but different from the usual Lavender or Geranium.
🌷 4. Relaxing Massage & Everyday Self-Care
Palmarosa can be combined with Copaiba, Lavender, Marjoram, or Frankincense in a properly diluted massage blend.
It's a lovely way to add a comforting floral aroma to your massage routine.
And sometimes simply taking a little time for yourself is exactly what you need!
💗 NOW FOR MY FAVORITE PART — ITS EMOTIONAL PERSONALITY!
If Palmarosa were a person, she'd be…
The Gentle Healer with a Wild Heart. 🌸
She's that woman who has been through a lot but somehow hasn't let life harden her.
She's soft, but she's not weak.
She's sensitive, but she's learning that not everything is hers to carry.
She's the friend who notices when your smile isn't quite right.
The one who checks on everybody else, even when she could use someone checking on her.
Sound familiar? 😉
In traditional emotional aromatherapy, Palmarosa is symbolically associated with:
- Emotional growth and maturity
- Self-love and acceptance
- Adaptability through life's changes
- Letting go of old patterns
- Learning healthy boundaries
- Receiving love instead of always being the giver
Its connection with the Heart Chakra is particularly beautiful.
In energetic aromatherapy traditions, the heart chakra represents love, compassion, forgiveness, and connection.
Palmarosa's symbolic personality reminds us that we can care deeply about others without forgetting ourselves.
And perhaps its biggest lesson?
You can have a soft heart, strong boundaries, and still bloom beautifully. 💗
These are traditional and symbolic emotional associations, not scientifically established effects of the oil.
🌸 BUT WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE PALMAROSA?
Here's the fun part!
You don't need Palmarosa to create an aromatic blend inspired by its personality.
We can combine other oils to capture some of those same soft, floral, nurturing qualities.
GERANIUM 💗
My first choice!
Geranium shares some of Palmarosa's rosy, floral aroma.
In emotional aromatherapy traditions, Geranium is associated with self-love, balance, and nurturing.
MAGNOLIA 🌷
Soft, sweet, and floral.
Symbolically associated with emotional openness, compassion, and tenderness.
LAVENDER 💜
A familiar favorite!
Its calming floral aroma makes it a lovely addition to a peaceful evening routine.
You can also bring in other oils to create different aromatic personalities:
- Cypress — transition and new beginnings
- Frankincense — reflection and spiritual connection
- Copaiba — a soft, comforting, grounding aroma
- Cedarwood — strength and stability
- Bergamot — a bright, uplifting atmosphere
🌸 THREE PALMAROSA-INSPIRED EMOTIONAL BLENDS
I've included three different roller recipes in the second graphic!
- Soft Heart, Strong Soul
Inspired by self-love, compassion, and learning to receive.
- Learning to Bloom
Inspired by personal growth, adaptability, and new beginnings.
- Gracefully Unbothered
Inspired by healthy boundaries, personal space, and remembering that not every problem belongs to you! 😂
These are not exact replacements for Palmarosa's chemistry. They're aromatic blends inspired by its traditional emotional personality.
🌿 HOW WOULD I ENJOY THESE BLENDS?
I love the idea of using an aroma as part of a little personal ritual.
You could:
- Enjoy the aroma from a properly diluted roller.
- Diffuse a few drops while journaling.
- Pair an aroma with a favorite affirmation.
- Use it during a quiet moment of reflection.
Or simply enjoy the fragrance!
For everyday use, make sure your roller is appropriately diluted for your skin. The recipes pictured are concentrated adult blends, so I'd reduce the total drops for frequent application. For leave-on products containing Bergamot, choose Bergamot FCF or follow the oil's sun-exposure precautions.
💗 MY FINAL THOUGHTS
I think Palmarosa is a beautiful example of why I love getting to know essential oils beyond their basic uses.
There's the plant itself.
Its natural chemistry.
Its beautiful aroma.
Its history and traditional uses.
And then there's the emotional personality we associate with it.
I enjoy exploring all those different layers!
And you don't have to own every limited-release oil to enjoy discovering something new.
NOW I'M CURIOUS…
🌸 Do you have Palmarosa?
Have you ever used it in skincare or a diffuser?
If you don't have it, which oil would you reach for first — Geranium, Magnolia, or Lavender?
And here's my favorite question…
Does Palmarosa's personality remind you of anyone? 💗

LET'S TALK ABOUT THOSE FORGOTTEN OILS!
Be honest… 😂
Do you have an essential oil sitting on your shelf that you bought because it sounded amazing… but now you're not really sure what to do with it?
Or maybe it's an oil you used to LOVE, but somehow it got pushed to the back of the shelf.
Maybe you just need a little refresher on all the ways you can use it!
I want to hear from YOU! 👇
- What oil do you own but rarely use?
- What oil are you curious about?
- What oil would you LOVE a deeper dive into?
I'm always sharing essential oil education, and I'd love to know what YOU want to learn more about!
We'll explore practical uses, diffuser blends, roller recipes, emotional support, and maybe even a little of the woo-woo side. 😉✨
Drop your oil in the comments! 👇
You might just rediscover an old favorite or find a whole new reason to love an oil you already own!

🕷️🍬 Kids Halloween Helper Series — Day 4!
SUGAR, SPICE & NOT SO NICE!
“Three candy bars ago, everything was FINE!” 😂
Oh, parents and grandparents… you KNOW this little spider!
One minute they're sweet as can be, and the next they're bouncing around, talking nonstop, getting into EVERYTHING, and somehow have enough energy to power the entire neighborhood!
Between Halloween parties, school activities, extra treats, and all the excitement from now through Christmas, little ones can get pretty wound up!
And sometimes all that excitement turns into crankiness, big feelings, or complete meltdowns.
Today I wanted to share the diffuser version of Sugar, Spice & Not So Nice!
🌿 DIFFUSER BLEND
2 drops Lavender
2 drops Copaiba
1 drop Green Mandarin
Why these oils?
🌿 Lavender — Known for its relaxing aroma, helping create a softer, more peaceful atmosphere.
🌿 Copaiba — Warm, gentle, and grounding. A lovely addition when you want the room to feel a little more comforting.
🌿 Green Mandarin — Bright, sweet, and cheerful! It adds a happy citrus note without making the blend feel too heavy.
When might you use it?
- After an exciting Halloween party.
- When the kids seem extra wound up.
- After a busy day of school and activities.
- When everybody is getting a little cranky.
- During that transition from playtime to quiet time.
Try diffusing briefly in a well-ventilated room while you encourage a little downtime, a drink of water, or a quiet activity. Keep the diffuser out of children's reach and stop if the aroma bothers anyone.
The oils won't cancel out sugar or magically stop a meltdown, but a pleasant aroma can be one part of creating a calmer environment.
And sometimes that's exactly what the whole family needs!

Kids Halloween Helper Series — Boo Hoo Mood 🧡👻
From now to Christmas, there are a LOT of activities.
A lot of excitement.
A lot of running around.
A lot of extra sugar.
A lot of tired little humans…
…and yes, a whole lot of boo hoo moments too. 😅
You know the ones…
The costume feels weird.
The snack isn’t right.
They’re tired, overwhelmed, emotional, and suddenly the smallest thing feels like the biggest thing in the world.
That’s where Boo Hoo Mood comes in. 👻 This one is all about creating a softer, calmer atmosphere for those days when your little ghosts are just feeling a little extra.
BOO HOO MOOD — Diffuser Blend
2 drops Lavender
2 drops Copaiba
1 drop Wild Orange
This version is a little different from the roller blend I made for my subscription group, but it pairs beautifully with it.
- Lavender brings that soft, familiar calming aroma.
- Copaiba adds a warm, grounding feel.
- Wild Orange brightens things up just enough and helps keep it from feeling too heavy.
It’s a sweet little blend for:
- after school meltdowns
- big-feeling afternoons
- overstimulated evenings
- those “everything is wrong” moments
- busy holiday-season emotions
Sometimes kids don’t need us to fix everything. Sometimes they just need a little comfort, a little calm, and a little space to come back to themselves.
✨ And this is just one of 8 blends in my Kids Halloween Helper Series.
My subscription group is getting the full collection, including:
🎃 the roller recipes
🎃 printable labels
🎃 and the ebook
So while I’ll share a little Halloween fun here on my public page, my subscription group gets the whole set. 🧡
If that sounds like something you’d love, come join us!

🤍 Some Days Are Just Hard
Today was one of those days for me. I had to say goodbye to my cat, and my heart is a little heavy tonight.
But hard days look different for everyone.
Maybe you worked too hard today.
Maybe you’ve been taking care of everyone else.
Maybe something didn’t go the way you hoped.
Maybe you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, grieving… or you just need the day to be over.
Tonight feels like a good night to make the house smell comforting, get cozy and give yourself permission to just be.
🌿 Some Days Are Just Hard — Diffuser Blend
3 Wild Orange
2 Copaiba
2 Lavender
1 Frankincense
1 Cedarwood
Soft • comforting • grounding • cozy
Turn on the diffuser. Put on the comfy clothes. Let your shoulders drop a little.
Tomorrow can be tomorrow.
Tonight, we rest. 🤍

I’ve been playing with the ORIGINAL Immortelle in a completely different way… and I’m loving these. 🤍
Most people think of Immortelle as a skin roller. But when you look at what’s inside the original blend — Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum + Rose — there’s also such a beautiful emotional personality to it.
Think:
softening • grounding • resilience • renewal • self-love • beginning again
So I took a few drops of the original Immortelle and turned it into a whole collection of 10 mL inspired rollers.
There’s Soft Landing for emotional comfort.
Quiet the Old Story for those emotionally heavy days.
Still Becoming for seasons of change, renewal and resilience.
Tender Places when you need something a little softer and more nurturing.
After the Day for unwinding and letting the day go.
Begin Again when you want uplifting energy without losing that grounded feeling.
And, of course, a couple for the skin side too — Skin Rescue and Love the Skin You’re In.
The emotional rollers can be used on places like the wrists, heart area, back of the neck or feet, depending on what feels good to you. The skin rollers are meant for more targeted areas.
One important detail: these recipes were created with the original Immortelle, which is 100% essential oils and NOT diluted, even though it comes in a roller bottle. You simply pop off the roller top and use a pipette to pull out the drops you need.
And there is so much more to this little bottle than I could fit on this roller sheet.
I made a deeper Immortelle page that gets into its personality, emotional/woo-woo side, ingredients, some of the ways people have used the original blend over the years, and why it earned that “Swiss Army knife” reputation.
Want that page too?
Comment IMMORTELLE and I’ll send it to you in a DM.
And if you’re already in my subscription group, this deeper Immortelle info is already available to you there. 🤍
