Today was a “use it up” kind of soap day. I finished off some previously made oils, a batch of lye, finished off a premixed essential oil blend, and - the real story - chopped up a failed batch of the Colorado flag bars centers that had me very disappointed last week.

Instead of scrapping it, I turned it into a confetti-style batch, added some pumpkin embeds, and piped on some vines and leaves.

This is the part of small-batch soap making nobody really shows - the redos, the “well that didn’t work” moments, and finding a way to make something good out of it anyway. 14 years in and I still have batches like this.

These’ll be up for sale soon - and like always, anything that doesn’t sell gets donated to The Other Side Academy and The Inn Between. 💜
