My Tulsi plant outside has gone nuts and become very prolific! If you’ve never had fresh holy basil tea, you should it’s quite delicious!
I use a “standardized” form of Tulsi in my products. The Holy Basil extract that’s going inside your skin care is not the same as what I’m putting in my tea at home. This is an important thing to know.
This process of standardization happens during extraction when the key components that are responsible for doing all of the good things in your skin are boosted a bit so that they are always going to give the same effect, and be more effective overall. So you can depend on more of the good stuff going in the formula. This matters when efficacy is important, and it’s always important at Code Of Harmony.

This is actually what a small batch Beauty business looks like. It’s not sexy. It’s sanitary. I’m not out in a field picking flowers to steep in oil and make a product with. I’m in the lab with my scales and stainless steel pots and mixers. I’m dragging around 40 pound pails of botanical oils and making sure that every gram of that precious active goes in the formula to be effective.

I have had this niggling irritation for some time now. i’ve stopped posting any videos of facial massage for this reason. It serves as inspiration without anything in return. Maybe I shouldn’t feel this way? Maybe I’m just over it….but my feed has turned into a massage competition with new buccal massage teachers coming out of nowhere with ads selling classes. I understand the ambition, but I can’t help but wonder if they even have a training manual that wasn’t written by AI?
Maybe I’m just old and jaded, but esthetics seems like it has lost the art of caring for clients and is just performative.
