Why do we double cleanse at night?

Double cleansing is like sweeping before you mop. Your floors wouldn’t be properly cleaned if you mopped without sweeping first—you’d just be mopping around dirt, right? It’s the same thing with your skin.

The first cleanse removes makeup, SPF, dirt, oil, and debris from the skin.

The second cleanse actually gets into the pores and cleans the skin, which helps your serums and other skincare products absorb better and do what they’re designed to do!

First cleanse: Use Barrier Balance Creamy Cleanser to break down makeup, SPF, dirt, oil, and buildup from the day.

Second cleanse: Use Ultra Gentle Gel Cleanser for a deeper cleanse of the pores and skin.

If your skin leans more dry or sensitive, reverse the order—Ultra Gentle Cleanser first, then follow with Barrier Balance to leave your skin feeling more hydrated and soothed. I do this order more often than not!
