Today, I (Eden) turned off the lights at Splendid Hair Salon for the last time. 🤍

Our hair department has officially closed and won’t be coming with us this winter. Splendid Beauty Bar & Co. is still very much moving forward—into our beautiful new space this winter just 5 miles away.

The hair salon was never part of the plan. By a series of unfortunate… fortunate events, it landed in our laps in 2020. Christine and I were NOT pleased with how it came about. But the people who became part of it gave us so much to be grateful for.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed some wonderful stylists, including some who have been with us since day one. An unexpected chapter became years of familiar faces, beautiful work, and memories we couldn’t have planned.

These photos take us from those first days to the girls’ self-implemented chore chart (a little piece of salon history I couldn’t leave out 🥹), and finally, to today’s last flip of the light switch.

It’s a sad day in some ways. It’s also a step toward the growth we’ve waited so long for. Both can be true.

To every stylist and client who made this little salon part of your life: thank you for being part of ours.

Apparently, our color palette has been moonlighting in real life. 🎨 For this carousel, we paired art created inside Splendid with monochromatic moments found outside of it. Different hands, different specialties, and entirely different points of view, all connected by color.

Every artist in our studio brings her own eye to the work. No copied formulas. No singular “Splendid look.” Just thoughtful artistry shaped around the person wearing it.

The Pretty Truth is: tint can make your lashes & brows look fuller, but it cannot make them more plentiful.
