Hey everyone! 👋🏼

For those of you who are new here, and even those who’ve been following along for a while, I figured it was time for a little reintroduction!

I’m Evan, the face behind The Evs Edit. ✂️

I’m a hairstylist at Blue Door Salon in Lockport, NY, specializing in custom color, dimensional blondes, extensions, bridal styling, and everything in between.

One of my favorite things about doing hair is getting to know the person sitting in my chair. Everyone’s hair, lifestyle, and goals are different, and I love being able to create something that feels like YOU.

Whether you’re looking for a big transformation, a little refresh, or just someone who understands what you’re trying to do with your hair, I’ve got you!

Outside of the salon, you’ll usually find me working on some kind of DIY project around my house, playing in my garden, or finding somewhere new to explore. 🌿

I’m so grateful for everyone who’s supported me along the way, whether you’ve been coming to me for years or just recently found my page. I’m excited to keep sharing my work, hair tips, and a little bit of life outside the salon with you all.

When we talk about what kind of cut you want, I’m also thinking about your texture, how you normally style your hair, how much time you actually WANT to spend on it, and what’s realistic for your everyday life.

Because I can give you the cutest haircut ever, but if it takes 45 minutes and 6 products to recreate at home and you’re a wash-and-go person… we have a problem 😂

This was SUCH a fun transformation. We completely switched things up with different shades of pink while keeping some depth throughout for dimension.

I love appointments like this because I get to be creative and just have fun with it. And I mean… COME ONNNN. The color, the dimension, the movement 😍 I’m obsessed with how this one turned out.

A trim every 6–8 weeks helps remove split ends, prevent further breakage, and keep your hair looking healthy while you grow it out.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes moment from my own appointment.

Even as a hairstylist, I still get excited to be in the chair. It’s a good reminder that we’re all clients at some point, and trusting someone with your hair is a big deal. 🤗

The funny part? I actually color my own hair. 😂 So yes… this picture is just me waiting for my lightener to finish processing. (Apparently I had the filter turned all the way up that day. 😂)

Sitting on the other side of the chair—even if it’s my own—reminds me of the excitement, the anticipation, and the confidence that comes with fresh hair.
