The Salvation Army cut the ribbon Thursday on a new transitional housing program in Lexington for veterans experiencing homelessness.

The new Veteran Transitional House will provide housing for 16 men and women while they work toward permanent housing. Veterans referred through the VA can stay for three to six months.

Twenty-five years ago, our world changed forever. Today, we pause to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We hold space for the families who carry the weight of loss every single day, and we honor the incredible bravery of the first responders, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to save others. Their courage in our darkest hour showed us the true strength of humanity.

May we continue to honor their legacy not only by remembering, but by standing together in unity, compassion, and strength.

✨Welcome Sarah Atkins to Kentucky Massage & Bodywork! ✨

Sarah has began her career in 2010. She moved to here from Michigan in 1988, and now calls Kentucky home. She has 3 adult children; one has followed her footsteps in massage therapy. She enjoys all therapies from traditional Swedish to deep tissue. She has also been trained in Lomi Lomi. Sarah is available on Tuesdays 3p-8p, Thursdays/Fridays 9a-4p and Saturdays 2p-8p.

Earlier this year, I was elected as a delegate for the Kentucky Chapter of the AMTA. We had a training for new volunteers in Austin, TX where I got to meet other state representatives. I learned so much about the profession’s history, where we are heading, how I can help the profession locally and nationally. I look forward to learning more about this role in the coming years. Making new connections with like minded people. What a wild group they are!
