Grateful for the Stories 💜
This week, I want to celebrate the stories—the personal moments and experiences that have touched my heart in one way or another throughout the years.
I’ll start with one of the most recent.
A young man with special needs came in with his mother for a haircut. The moment he walked through the door, he bounced with excitement and said, “It’s quiet in here. I like this place.”
He went straight to the chair and sat down without any prompting. His mom looked both surprised and incredibly pleased.
During our consultation, as I touched and assessed his hair, I could tell how much he enjoyed it. So I gave him a little scalp massage. He let out the happiest little squeal, rolled his eyes back with pure enjoyment, and made it very clear just how much he loved it. 💜
He was happy and relaxed throughout his entire haircut. When we were finished, he eagerly took his gold coin to choose a prize, excitedly watched as his empty capsule traveled through the Fairy Factory, then gathered his stickers and left with a huge smile on his face.
And I was left with one too.
This is why I do what I do.
Sensory-friendly spaces aren’t only important for small children. Older children, teenagers, and adults with disabilities and sensory differences deserve spaces where their needs are understood too.
Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity—and to be met exactly where they are.
Sometimes something as ordinary as a haircut can become a beautiful experience when we create an environment that allows someone to simply be themselves. 💜
These are the stories I’ll carry with me.
❤️ This week, let’s celebrate the parents!
The parents who came prepared with snacks, tablets, favorite toys, and sometimes an entire bag of distractions. 😂
The ones who held hands, wiped tears, offered encouragement, celebrated tiny victories, and kept trying even when haircuts were really hard.
I’ve watched so many of you learn exactly what your child needed and advocate for them without apology.
And I’ve watched the relief on your faces when you realized you’d finally found a place where you didn’t have to explain or defend your child.
You trusted me with your kids, but you also taught me so much about them.
So this week, I’m celebrating you. ❤️
Just a little scheduling heads-up! 🚌💜
I’ll be away the first week of September to pick up my tiny home on wheels and bring her home!
I’ll be back behind the chair Wednesday, September 9th — and I can’t wait to share this next adventure with all of you! 🥰
❤️ Let’s celebrate our favorite Snip Snails memories!
One of mine was a little guy who spent his haircut trying to stare directly into my face. 😂 Every time I tried to move so I could actually cut his hair, he just wanted to keep looking at me.
It made my job a little difficult, but absolutely melted my heart.
When his haircut was over, he reached for me, nestled into me, and let me snuggle him for a minute. 🥹❤️
Those are the moments I’ll always treasure — knowing a child felt safe and connected with me.
Now I want to hear yours! Share your favorite Snip Snails memory in the comments — sweet, funny, emotional, or completely ridiculous. ❤️
❤️ This week, I’m celebrating the kids.
With less than three months before the doors of Snip Snails & Piggy Tails close for the final time, I keep thinking about all the incredible children who have walked through them.
The kids who needed to sit on the floor, stand up, hold every comb, inspect the clippers, take ten breaks, watch the same video 10 times in a row — or simply needed time before they were ready.
The kids who screamed through their first haircut and eventually walked through the door like they owned the place. And the ones who never learned to love haircuts, but learned that this was a place where they were safe and understood.
I’ve watched babies become toddlers, toddlers become big kids, and some of those little kids become teenagers. I’ve watched fears shrink, confidence grow, and families celebrate milestones that others might never understand.
These kids taught me to slow down, listen differently, and throw the traditional rules of doing hair out the window when necessary.
Because success doesn’t always mean sitting perfectly still in a salon chair.
Sometimes success is simply walking through the door and trying again. ❤️
To every child who has ever sat, stood, wiggled, cried, laughed, danced, negotiated, or escaped 😂 in my salon:
Thank you for trusting me enough to let me into your world. It has been an absolute privilege to know you.
With all my love,
Corrina ❤️
With just three months before the doors of Snip Snails & Piggy Tails close for the final time, I’d like to spend these next few months reflecting on this incredible journey and thanking the families who made it so meaningful.
This month, I simply want to say thank you to the parents.
Thank you for trusting me with your children. Whether they loved haircuts or struggled every step of the way, you allowed me the privilege of getting to know them, understanding their unique needs, and celebrating each milestone alongside your family.
Some of you have been with me since the very beginning. I’ve watched your babies grow into teenagers, and the fact that you continued to trust me through every chapter of my journey is something I will never take for granted.
Thank you for believing in me, for believing in your children, and for allowing me to be a small part of your family’s story.
With all my love and gratitude,
Corrina ❤️
