Can we talk about a NAIL GROWTH WIN?! 😭💅🏼🤎

When she first came to me, her nails were super short from biting…like little to no free edge and nowhere near extending past her fingertips.

Now look at them. 👀

THOSE ARE HER NATURAL NAILS growing PAST her fingertips!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This is exactly why I love documenting where we start. Sometimes you don’t realize just how much progress you’ve made until you put the pictures side by side.

Consistent appointments + giving those nails a chance to grow = THIS. 🤎

💅🏼 Why does licensure matter? 💅🏼

It’s something we don’t talk about very often, because most people understandably think about the fun part of getting their nails done..the pretty colors, nail art, and leaving with a fresh set. 🤎

But there’s SO much more behind that little license hanging on my wall.

Becoming a licensed nail technician means receiving education in sanitation and disinfection, nail anatomy, diseases and disorders, contraindications, and recognizing when a service may NOT be appropriate.

And sometimes being a professional means telling a client, “I can’t safely work on that today.”

We’re not doctors, and it isn’t our job to diagnose. But it IS our responsibility to recognize when something doesn’t look healthy, stay within our scope of practice, follow proper sanitation procedures, and refer a client to a medical professional when necessary.

Your nail appointment should be about more than leaving with pretty nails. 💅🏼

You deserve to know that the person working on your hands and feet has been educated, licensed, and takes the health and safety side of this industry seriously.

That’s something I’ll never compromise on at The Nail Barn. 🤎

Pretty nails are the fun part.
